AWESOME!! Meet & greet, Great spot! Great pictures! Signature from Adam himself, a picture with Tommy, a run-in with Tommy, and a compliment my outfit!! it was GLAMOROUS of course!!!!
Great show. Adam's voice is impecable. Even my husband (not a fan, but there for Allison and Orianthe) was impressed. Studio recordings do not do this man's voice justice. To hear Adam's voice echo in a smaller venue without all the screaming like in the American Idol Live tour was pure heaven. I liked Friday's show so much, I attended again two nights later. Well worth the expense.
For those who attended this show, I think you might agree this was Adam's mecca......the love back and forth was tangible.....I hope that if Adam records a live CD/DVD he does it here.....the intimacy of the venue, the sound quality, the energy of the crowd - and Adam's voice - was off the charts. I was lucky to be there. Adam, because it was SF, was allowed to be completely open and free...no restrictions, no judgment, nothing but LOVE...all you need is Love, love, all you need is love, love...in the aftermath...Adam, you are wonderful....I hope you return to the Warfield soon....adamworshiper
I wonder what Miss Manners has to say about sending an RSVP after you attend an event... I'm hoping there's a loophole for paid admission events, but have my sackcloth and ashes ready at hand just in case.
It's worth the risk of an etiquette faux-pas to voice a shout out of thanks for an inspiring and entertaining evening! The music was incredible to say the least, and as much as I've enjoyed his albums, the addition of a strong support band and the opportunity to add a visual dimension in the form of light, costume, and especially dance took his act from gourgeois to divine (with or without costume wings)!
But laurels spoken towards his performance quality really go without saying... I expected nothing less from this wunderkind phenom. Adam delivered, and that's no surprise.
The social and cultural significance of his concert tour really aren't a surprise either, but they're what I want to emphasize. Now, I know that Adam has made public statements to point that he's "a performer, not an activist". Ironically, having his ambitions rooted in someplace other than social justice probably makes Adam rarely overqualified to answer that calling.
Like it or not, credit given where credit is due--ain't fame a stinker that way?
Anyhow, I was especially happy to see so many teen/parent groups in the audience. For the GLBT percentage in attendance, Adam's message about loving yourself as best way to find love from others, and the importance of social connection is something sorely needed in our culture. Young minds need external validation to build a strong sense of identity!
The fact that Adam's message comes from a raw desire for self-expression is what makes him so well qualified to lend his voice to this task. The honest sincerity this allows him to produce is charming beyond words.
The fact that Adam is so genuine in his stage pressence means that this concern has other substantial contributions for American cultural hygeine. Providing a role model for gay youth is a fine accomplishment just on its own, but he also makes an incredible ambassador to those outside our commuity as well.
His decision to step back and introduce each individual musician and dancer by name, give them time to perform solo, and praise them for their support is a show of respect to those artists. It demonstrates that any musical expression about the reality of social interdependence isn't hypocritical lip service. An artist who lives up to their word earns the respect of his audience.
When so many of our neighbors derive comfort from sustaining mores that place LGBT individuals in the margins, less deserving of social rights by virtue of second-class status and a distorted sense of natural law, I celebrate any public figure who defies that illusion. Charm and style get someone like Adam noticed, but its the respect that comes from living as he sings that will make him tough for anyone to dismiss. In time, that will heal hears and help some re-think whether it is justifiable to draw the same distinctions between "us" and "them".
Alas, it is getting quite late, so time for me to wrap and submit this. My appologies for any typographic errors that escaped my weary eyes.
My heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped bring the Glam Nation Tour to San Francisco this weekend!!! If it's coming anywhere near you in the performances still to come, do yourself a favor--find two tickets and make the time to attend. You won't regret the time spent, and you'll need an intimate confidant who accepts the fact that you're still talking about years later because they're doing it still too.
I attended your concert on the July 25th in San Francisco however I can only remember approximately two minutes of the concert. Something was slipped in my drink and if it wasn’t for my mom I probably would have not made it home alive. I love your music and respect you tremendously as a human being. You do not hide from who you are… none of us should. I in no way want this to come off as an attack on you as a person/artist but I would rather like to warn other women that even the greatest concerts can turn into a nightmare if you are not cautious. Please be careful and never turn your back on a drink for even a split second…
Are you kidding me, Adam? You are without a doubt from some other part of the universe. You hit notes Sunday night that you NEVER hit on your album or American Idol. I have no words for what I saw to fully reflect what you did. The choreography, the band, the costume changes, the way you played with the crowd and the band....I've been to a thousand concerts and I will never see a live performance again unless it is YOU Adam....like Simon said last year after your Whole Lotta Love performance, "Nobody can top that now." That is the way I feel...you took all of us to a place I know we have never been before and thank you thank you thank you....I still get chills thinking about your show.....For those of you still considering buying tickets, DO IT NOW!!!!! Adam will absolutely blow you away.....and Adam wants to know if Tommy is pretty - of course he is!! Well, Adam, you gave me a memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life and I love you so much for what you have given me.....YOU make me want to listen to music again!!! You are loved - and you ARE LOVE....adamworshiper
I tried to order with the pre-sale code sent to my email, but ticketmaster says the code isn't working. Am I doing something wrong? I really want to go to this show, but I'm having trouble buying the tickets! Help please!
Thanks,
Jennifer
p.s. I'm a HUGE fan!!!!
I received a pre-sale (DANCE2010) announcement on Wed. to see Adam on
7/16 at the Warefield in San Francisco, CA. I was estatic!!!!!!!!!!!You see, I'm
a loyal Lambert fan since American Idol........yes, I voted many times!! To get to the point, if I had known the tour dates before I made vacation reservations to see my two boys in Mexico (7/21-7/28) before hand, I would've planned our
vacation around Adam's Bay Area concert dates. When I saw the pre-sale
announcement with the 7/16 date, I bought tickets without realizing that on the next page the date changed to 7/25. I was able to cancel the purchase through
Ticketmaster, but, what a TOTAL BUMMER! I've saved the e-mail announcement just in case. Adam, if you are reading this complaint, help me!
Are there any other dates in which I can see you perform near the S.F. Bay Area? Maybe, Sacramento in the early Fall? "For Your Entertainment" is my favorite cd and I've told everyone how great you are and will be here & abroad.
You are America's version of Robbie Williams (English). He is also one of my all time favorites. You are my international superstar already! As humble as you are, I also love your directness.
Please let me know if you have any good news for me.
You truly rock,
Victoria from Alameda, CA. (Bay Area)
