BTW, for those of you who wonder; this art is done with good old pencils, on plain paper! The tree that offered that sheet of paper did not die in vain.

i can't believe you drew this! and using only colored pencils? i can see why it took you 30 hours, it's so detailed. I would die if i could make anything even close to that good? You need to do something with that picture, frame it, sell it, whatever! Adam needs to see that ASAP!

I have to say this is the best drawing I have seen of Adam and I've seen many that are fantastic but if they had a contest for this, this should definitely be the winner! Did you happen to send this to Adam? Oh my god if he saw this he probably would start to cry!

Ha i wish i could teach you!!! I don't think art is really something you can teach though.... Its more of a personal thing. What i would suggest is perhaps to just practice a lot - get some good pics that you like, be they inspirational, pretty, easy to draw, whatever, and give them a go! Don't be to hard on yourself, and just draw for fun. The more you practice, the better you'll get! Wish ya luck!

Muhhh haa haa!!! I know the cool cat that drew this!! And I have a poster size of this dope shizz hanging on my bedroom wall!! And just to let you know, she is an amazingly talented artist, and she did infact DRAW this with some sickk colored pencils. I watched it in the prosses. so happy I met you "Jolson"! Soul sistahs 4 eva!

on ebay with free P&P, just a 24 pack to try them out because by the looks of it you can get individual ones too! Just hope they get to me in one piece! lol I can't wait to try them, of course not expecting to achieve the same results though lol ;@)

i am blown away! i can't believe this was done with prismacolor, those pencils are terrible for me, they never want to blend haha

Of course I don't mind you taking my recommendation. That's what I'm here for! But yes, the Prismacolor pencils are wonderful, and I am even tempted to go out and get the 128 pencil set! that would be awesome! haha but they're kinda expensive so i dunno...But one way or another, I feel the same way about paint: pencil is much easier to control! I just started using colored pencil recently, and as you can see, i love it!!

and get some of those pencils! I really want to do something in colour, but I've always been better at drawing than painting as I have better control with a pencil. Hope you don't mind me taking your recommendation aswell

Yep it may be the type of pencils, those that I'm using are not so good... When I'm back to the States I'll be heading right to the store to buy those Prismacolor pencils! Looks like they're good stuff.
And another thing is that I've never spent more than 5 hours on any of my drawings, LOL! I can't really picture myself spending 30 hours on just one piece...o_O Gotta learn some patience and try those tips of yours

Ha, yes i promise colored pencil is ALL that i used. no lie. I think it perhaps might be the TYPE of colored pencil used? I used a 48 set of Prismacolors, and they are extremely smooth. but still, i layered lots of color especially for the background. One has to be careful not to layer TOO much though, because then the waxiness of the pencil lead starts to clump and things get out of hand. but yes, layering is a really good way to fill in spots and create a smooth look! thanks for checking out my stuff!

How did you do that? Parts of the drawing don't look like colored pencil to me, the red background for example... I draw with colored pencils too but I can't make it as dark and smooth and well blended as this.
Do reveal some tips please!

This is gorgeous! Caught my eye instantly as this is the photo I was going to base my lastest black and white Adam sketch on but I ended up choosing a different one. You have great taste! Done with color pencil? Wow, you are a magician!!
