Congratulations on your “first” solo concert at Indio. What a night! Just when you think you know what Adam can do, he raises the bar even higher. Great pacing with an exciting opening run that then melted us to mellow with an acoustic four-song set that included the beauty of “Broken Open” all stripped down, only to build the fever again with a rocking set that took us home. A storm of star-wonder, topped off with riveting 7-and-a-half minute version of Whole Lotta Love, driven by the slow, bluesy, throbbing beat of a hot bayou night. Loved it! And loved the band! I was also displeased with the comments Joan Rivers made in reference to Adam Lambert’s spectacular look on the red carpet. Not only did they fuel outdated stereotypes, “jokes” like hers by a celebrity on such a public forum give “permission” for others to make demean a minority group that is currently under siege in this troubled social and political environment. It is not harmless with bullying at a peak and in the context of a radically conservative political climate that seems bent on undermining equal protections for ALL our citizens rather than protecting them.read more »
