To Tweet or Not to Tweet, That is the Question:

Wow is that a cheesy title! Ah well, it's attention grabbing for whatever the reason. So this weekend Adam tweets about Cassidy Haley's "Whiskey in Churches" video. I saw it. It's pretty hot but not offensive in my opinion. I'm pretty open minded and don't have a problem with a show of sensuality in a music video. Music's a personal choice and meant to invoke emotions in those listening to it. And a music video is intended to further enhance the experience by adding the visual component. This one certainly enhances the experience. Cassidy Haley is an attractive and well-built man and he knows how to use his assets.

Okay so we've established the video is provocative. So now what? Well Adam tweets it to his mass of 144,000+ followers. Some of those followers are minors. Okay, that seems reasonable. And one mother in particular takes exception this. Should Adam censor himself and his friends because of that? I don't think so. There's nothing in this video you couldn't see on television. It's not pornographic or violent or anything like that. It does depict gay men. That in and of itself is not objectionable, at least it shouldn't be. If Cassidy were rubbing up against a woman, would this mother have had any objection? Maybe. Maybe not. But it would be even more similar to what's on MTV or TV channels already. If it was the gay content that was the problem, that's sad. If it was just the sensuality of the video, okay, that's more reasonable. But, as a parent of 16 year old, was anything there that bad? I accept it's the parent's discretion as to what the 16 year old should be exposed to, but that parent cannot expect the entire Internet to be censored accordingly. Parents do have the choice to control what their children see but they also have the responsibility enforce that if they choose to do so.

Adam is not presenting himself as a Jonas Brothers style artist. He is provocative and that is well known. He's not going to go G rated any time soon either. In fact, he's only become more bold since the AI season ended. Accept this and accept him if you're a fan. If you're not, Adam is okay with that and with you buying the Jonas Brothers album instead. We all have this choice to make.

Incidentally, Cassidy Haley's EP is fantastic. Well worth $6. I'm glad Adam's in a position to help out his friends with some exposure.
