How disappointing to read this article.
Accuracy in journalism is the first rule of any good writer. This article is lacking in that very thing, which is the essence of any reliable journalism.

As a loyal supporter of Adam and based on my knowledge of him, his career and his relationship with his audiences, I know something about his prowess as a gifted musician and a singer/songwriter with magnificent and unparalleled musical vocal skills. In briefly scanning the article, these errors immediately leapt to the forefront for me:

1. "an uneasy relationship with his audience" -

In fact, Adam has a fantastically warm and loving relationship with his audience, as has been evidenced on his recent nearly sold-out international tour with well over 100 concert stops world wide. In all 19 concerts that I've attended, I have never witnessed anything but a stellar and fiercely passionate audience reaction to Adam's music.
So, an uneasy relationship?
Not now, not ever.

2. "a performer who doesn't write his own songs in an idiom that usually demands it" -

Actually, Adam writes many of his own songs and is an amazing lyricist and songwriter, either solo or in partnership with other songwriters.

Just a few examples of his collaborations as a songwriter and his ability as a songwriter/lyricist from his debut album, For Your Entertainment:
~ Broken Open
~ Aftermath
~ Strut!
~ Pick U Up

Currently, Adam is hard at work writing the songs for his second album, and we will all be the richer for it. Adam's lyrics and melodies are crystalline and beautiful, full of emotion and rich meaning. I can hardly wait!

3. Lambert's young yet—but in a pop career, the first question you ask is the question you'll have to ask forever. -

It ain't that deep.
It's just music.
The question Adam asks in the song is Whataya Want From Me?
A truly great song, smashingly well-performed vocally and emotionally by Adam.
End of story.
He will not have to ask this question again, because he knows what his fans want from him...no questions asked!

Unfortunately, the errors in this article were so visible that I couldn't see the forest for the trees, so to speak.

Chica is correct, Adam's album has new releases internationally and is still walking on very strong legs! His current remix of his own composition, Aftermath, has been slated to support The Trevor Project, as written on Markus D. Molinari's blog:

"Adam took to the mic last night to thank all of his friends and family on how blessed he felt for a wonderful year. He then introduce a new version of his song Aftermath that he co-wrote with Ferras, Alisan Porter, Ely Rise.

Adam went on to say a portion of the remixed tune would go to The Trevor Project. A charity that deals with gay teens that are having trouble with their sexual orentaion and may be having thoughts of suicide. Adam has been a vocal supporter of this charity that speaks out against gay bullying."
