"Ménage Étoile (You, Me, and the Stars)"
09/25/10 graphite, watercolor, colored pencil, washable marker, Sharpie, and pastel chalk on 21.5 x 13.75" heavy roll drawing paper. This is Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert in a vignette from "their" song, Fever. The theme is flames. I lightly used four reference photos, but the drawing is almost entirely fabricated from my imagination. I had to redraw the bodies several times to make them more realistic. The stars on Gaga's side are the constellation Aries, and on Adam's side is the constellation Aquarius.
Long ago someone tweeted Adam to ask him if he was singing "ménage étoile" because that's what their ears heard. He responded to that tweet that when he recorded fever with Lady Gaga producing, she insisted that he sing the second verse differently.
