Adam ROCKS!! He was amazing here when he played if he ever comes to VEGAS again I will be sure to GO... ILU Adam <3

Madamlambert

My friend, her mom, my mom, and I went to this concert and it was fantabulous!!!! It was absolutly the BEST concert I have ever been too! I love Adam SO SO SO SO SO much! I am a die hard fan! I love him so much, that at the concert i got in to the wave pool in just my regular clothes and forgot my phone was in my pocket, so my phone ended up broken. But oh well! Being able to be fifteen feet from the stage and making eye contact with Adam Lambert made that night one of the best nights of my life Smiling

HeatherDawn

My sister and I arrive in Las Vegas. We have traveled from San Diego to witness Adam's very first solo performance in fabulous Las Vegas.

The concert is being held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel at 'The Beach'. 'The Beach' is an outdoor venue where attendees can sit in the sand or wade in the water while watching the show.

This is the fourth GLAM NATION concert I have attended.
It is my first 'general admission' show on this tour. (that means no seat assignments, standing only)

My sister walk off the escalator and outside. It's July, it's Las Vegas and it is extremely HOT.

The gates will open in an hour and a good amount of people are already in line. We get a spot and prepare to wait. The familiar tune of WHATAYA WANT FROM ME is heard. It is NOT a recording. We can hear Adam doing his soundcheck.

My sister and I look at each other.
"Oh, wow! It's like we get to hear TWO concerts!" she smiles.

We listen to
WHATAYA WANT FROM ME
SOAKED
IF I HAD YOU

But the sun it still out and I am feeling it. So as much as I hate to, I have to abandon my sister and Adam's soundcheck and retreat to the indoor air-conditioning.
As I am walking away, Adam begins singing TIME FOR MIRACLES.

I have never heard him sing TIME FOR MIRACLES live.
Oh, man. This night is going to be EPIC!

I go inside the shelter of the casino, stand next to a line of payphones and drink water.
I cannot hear the soundcheck through the double glass doors and this bums me out. But I need to conserve my energy for the actual concert, so I try to be patient and bide my time.

It seems like I am standing on the cold marble floor for an eternity. I take out my cellphone and call my sister to see what song they are rehearsing now. As I am waiting on the ringtone, Loungenu (Adam's drummer) walks through the doors. He has no shirt on and is walking quickly.

I say, "Hi."- but he thinks I am talking on my phone and continues on to the elevators.

My sister answers her phone, "They're not playing anything. I think soundcheck is over."
"I know! Loungenu just walked past me."
"What?!"
We laugh and hang up.

About five minutes later, Cam (Adam's keyboardist) and Tommy (Adam's bass player) walk through the doors.
Tommy is dressed in black, no makeup and huge sunglasses.

I smile at him and quietly say, "Hi, Tommy. Have a good show."
He smiles softly, "Thank you. We will."

They continue to the elevators.

My sister calls me, "The line is moving! Get out here!"

I go outside.
Whoa. The line has quadrupled since I left.
I jump in line.

A 20-soemthing Las Vegas native is behind us. He has never seen Adam live and is very excited.
"I didn't know it was going to be a choice between sand or water," he sighs as he looks down at his fancy embroidered flur-de-lie leather boots.

I take off my heels and put them in my purse, "Well, we're aiming for the water."
He laughs. We talk Adam and IDOL but now the line is really moving.

Everyone has their tickets out and the turnstiles are in sight.
As soon as we gain entrance, people take off running.
I shout to my sister (who is taller and faster then me), "Run! Leave me! I will find you!"
She bolts.

Our new friend looks at me in shock, "Did she just ditch you?"
"Go!" I urge him, "Run!"
He heeds my plea and makes good use out his long legs and fancy boots.

The venue is awesome. A white sand beach stretches in front of me and a shallow aquatic oasis surrounds the elevated stage.
I step into the knee-deep water and wade out to find my sister.
I see her. She is ten feet away from the stage - YES!

Everyone is so happy to be in the water as we jockey for position.
A young woman behind me is soaking wet from head to toe and fully clothed.
"I dove in at the deep end and swam to the front," she blushes as she stands in the ankle-deep shallow in front of the stage.

Allison's set begins and it is awesome.
She gives it everything she has and the people love it.
She sings:
'Holiday'

Before starting 'Robot Love', Allison talks to us.
"I need your help on this next one. When I say 'Who-na-na-HEY', I need y'all to do the HEY! Can you help me?"
Everyone cheers.
"Who-na-na?"
"HEY!"
She smiles, "Alright!"

The crowd grooves and shouts when asked - it's a great time.

'Scars'
'Don't Waste the Pretty' (with Orianthi)
'Heartbreaker' (Pat Benatar cover)
'Friday I'll Be Over U'

After her set, people are blown away.
"I had no idea. She is AMAZING!"

A guy (in his 20s) stands next to us in the water.
"Are you having fun?" we ask.
"Mmmm, hmmm," he smiles and with the softest southern drawl he answers, "I'm from Kentucky and this is the first concert I have ever been to in my life!"

Orianthi is up now.
She sings:
'What's It Gonna Be'
'Bad News'
'According To You'

She smiles down to us in the water, "It's so HOT! I wanna jump in the pool with you guys!"
Everyone encourages her to do so. She laughs and begins singing.

'Suffocated'
'Think Like A Man'
'Courage'
'Shut Up & Kiss Me'
'VooDoo Child' (Jimi Hendrix cover)

The intro to 'Let's Go Crazy' (Prince cover) begins. Orianti speaks over the music.
"Dearly Beloved we are gathered here tonight on the GlamNation Tour to promote love and rock your souls. Coming up the man you've been waiting for...ADAM LAMBERT!"

Wild screams.
"So let's go crazy!"

The song is awesome. When it ends, the crowd cheers.
Ok, now the wait begins.

The group next to us has a very happy guy.
Dressed in a plaid shirt and kaki shorts, he grabs his friends' hands, "You guys, I'm really concerned that when Adam comes out - I might faint."
They all giggle and assure him they will take care of him. He nods and smiles.

The wait for Adam is long.
But it was extended by a twenty minute search for a missing child. Lifeguards combed the crowd for a 10 year old girl named Morgan who got separated from her mother.
Giant searchlights are turned out and the music is shut off.
Everyone in the water understands though. They have to find her.
Finally, Morgan is found and we all cheer.

The music is turned back on and BULLETPROOF by La Roux is played.
Everyone in our area knows and loves the song.
We all bond with a group dance and sing-a-long.
Two songs later, the lights go out.

A still image of Adam surrounded by feathers and a green glow appears on the giant screen center-stage.
Everyone screams in joy.
The throbbing beat of Adam's FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT remixed by Brad Walsh is blasted over the killer sound system.
All of us in the water sing and groove to the pre-reordered track.

The song reaches it's climactic end and a silhouette appears at the top of a staircase center-stage.
It is Adam.
Everyone looses their minds.

On the large video screen, a full moon and eerie clouds are projected.
Adam begins singing VOODOO in darkness.
"Moonshine on the bayou, love shrine break the taboo.
I wanna know what's in your potion, bound by total devotion..."

A spotlight hits Adam and he continues singing as he descends the stairs.

Adam is wearing:
-Black top-hat with a blood red Swarovski crystal old-English style 'A', lavender spider webbing and two very long pheasant feathers pinned to the side by an abalone shell.
-Black fingerless leather gloves - black nail polish
-Deep purple knee-length velvet coat with black fur shoulders and knee-length purple fringe under each sleeve.
-Black snake-skin leather boot cut pants with lace-up fly
-Black elbow-length lightweight button-up shirt embroidered with gold thread and stones
-No shoes - black toe nail polish

His jewelry:
-Large round medallion with multiple red stones
-Multiple layers of chains and stone necklaces
- No rings

His makeup:
Black eye shadow
Black eyeliner
Red and white rhinestone bindis above the bridge of his nose

There are four dancers that join him on-stage. Two male, two female. They interact with Adam throughout the song.

"I'm so obsessed with your sexiness!"
Adam holds the note and the music melts into the intro of DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE.
The lights go down and the video background changes to a spinning psychedelic swirls.

Adam peels off his coat.
By now the sun has long since set, the temperature has dropped and the wind has kicked up - but it must be REALLY hot up there for him. The dancers leave the stage.

"Break out all the mechanical.."
He moves and grooves to the song.

Towards the end of the song, Adam climbs to the top of the stairs.
"Who are you?"

The beat of RING OF FIRE begins without a breath in-between.
Adam gets on his knees as the background changes to a literal ring of fire.
"Love is burning thing..."
Adam smolders through the song. The song ends and the crowd goes insane.

The beat of FEVER starts up.
Adam sneaks a drink of bottled water and stomps halfway down the stairs to stand next to Tommy.

"There he goes my baby walks so slow, sexual tic-tac-toe...."
Adam whips off his top hat.

His hair:
Elvis-style pompadour
glitter throughout

"We both know it isn't time..."
Adam puts his arm around Tommy's neck and draws him close.

They separate and Adam continues singing, walking center-stage. He is joined by his dancers.
The song is awesome. The dance routine is so much fun.

Near the end of the song, on the line:
"Give you my f-f-f-fever..."
Adam drops his voice low and then raises it to high.
He runs up the stairs and finishes the song.
The lights go and screams erupt.
Adam goes off-stage.

The screen changes to fire.
The dancers do a routine for about a minute and a half.
The routine ends, the lights go out and the dancers leave the stage.

The screen changes to a stormy night with lightening and gothic angel statues.
The intro to SLEEPWALKER begins.
Adam appears at the top of the stairs. He cloaked in blue light.
He steps to the beat down the stairs and a white spotlight hits him.

He is wearing a new coat.
It is a floor-length black coat with Celtic-inspired swarovski crystal studded embroidery on the collar, down the back and on the cuffs.
(still no shoes)

He sings with passion and power.
As he moves about the stage, the wind is kicking up.
He walks center-stage and the wind blows his long coat in the most dramatic way.
The song ends, the lights go out.
Everyone cheers and screams.

Adam walks to the drum kit on Tommy's side.
Adam hunches over at the waist and puts his hands on his knees.
Tommy turns his back to the audience and pats Adam supportively on the shoulder.
Adam takes a couple deep breaths and nods. He straightens up and grabs a water. He chugs half the bottle and composes himself.

A roadie has put a stool center-stage. Adam walks out to it and sits down.
"It is HOT! Look you all in the water, so cool. Where's MY f***ing water?"
Everyone cheers.

"Thank you, guys, for coming out tonight. I appreciate it," he wipes his forehead, "It's ok. I'm making my own water."
He sighs a laugh.
"So what that last song was about was sometimes relationships, they just suck. They kill us! They tear out hearts out! But then there are other times, when as long as we ask the right questions, they can be the most wonderful thing in the world."

Monte begins playing an acoustic intro to WHATAYA WANT FROM ME.
The crowd cheers at the line:
"Thanks for loving me, 'cause you're doing it perfectly...."
Everyone sings along.
The song ends. Adam smiles and nods his thanks.
The lights go out. The stool is taken away.

SOAKED begins.
Adam stands center-stage.
He sings beautifully and when he reaches the climatic line:
"You miss the touch of someone new..."
He holds the note, the spotlight fades down and is bathed in blue light.
The crowd goes wild and cheers for a solid thirty seconds.
Adam walks as far out on stage as he can. The wind kicks out his coat.
The spotlight returns.
"Soaked to the bone. Sink like a stone.
I will take you home.
It's not the first time, it's not the worst crime.
Our souls will be ok...."

The lights go down as cheers continue.
Adam walks to his stairs and sits in the middle.
For us in the water, he is too low. We can't see him.

"Uh, wait. Sorry all you down in front. I'll sit a little higher," he giggles.
Appreciative cheers from the water as he repositions himself to the top stair.
"Yeah, so sometimes we chase our own tail, we look for love in all the wrong places. But something that I'm working on, that I think everyone should, is the key is to look inside yourself for the love."

Monte begins playing an acoustic intro to AFTERMATH.
At the end of the song, Adam smiles and nods his thanks.
He fist-bumps Monte and walks off-stage.

Smoke fills the stage and rainbow lasers fill the air.
The band begins playing a three minute instrumental odyssey that melts into the beginning of SURE FIRE WINNERS.
Through the smoke, Adam saunters center-stage.

He is wearing:
- Black button-up vest with blue leather swarovski crystal studded trim - an old English-style 'A' of blue swarovski crystals on his back
- Black formfitting pants with blue leather swarovski crystal studded trim and black scroll work
- Black calf-high leather boots with blue leather swarovski crystal studded trim
- Black fingerless leather gloves
- No jewelry
- Glitter all over his bare arms and chest

"Gonna take you to the top, to the brink of what you believe..."
The song ends.
Adam raises his arms to the side in mock-defiance. He jerks up his chin and taunts, "What?"
Wild cheers.
He smiles and walks back to the stairs.

The beat to STRUT begins.
Terrance (one of the dancers) walks on-stage with a jacket.
He helps Adam put it on and then hands him a black swarovski crystal covered walking cane with brass rounded top.

- Knee-length tuxedo-inspired black and white striped leather jacket
Huge brass buttons pin open the blue leather collar
Brass studs cover the broad shoulders
Thick blue leather trim on the cuffs
More brass studs on the back and a tassel in the center

"I wanna start a revolution..."
Adam takes center-stage and the white spotlight.
He vamps it up and struts the stage.

The dancers join him. They each have canes as well.
"Now we're a complicated nation...."
Adam crosses his leg, leans casually on his cane and bats his eyelashes.

"You got some to say, your hands are tied..."
Adam tucks the cane under his arm and gives a little shimmy.

He uses the cane as a pseudo-stripper pole and pelvic thrusts are prevalent.
Adam is obviously having alot of fun and so is the crowd.
He ends the song by giving a high kick.
Wild cheers.

I look to my side. The guy (who was worried about fainting) is crying tears of joy.
He smiles and covers his face.

The dancers leave and MUSIC AGAIN begins.

Right before Monte's guitar solo, Adam shouts, "Guitar!" (ala Justin Hawkins of THE DARKNESS)
The song is awesome.
Cheers when it ends.

Tommy begins strumming the intro of IF I HAD YOU.

"Vegas, you having fun?" Adam asks us.
Wild cheers.
"Yeah? I'm having fun. What do think of this band?"
Wild cheers.
"I want you to meet them. First of all, on the keyboards - Miss Camilla Grey!"

Camilla does her solo.
"Yeah, Cam!" he laughs.

"Ladies and gentleman, on the drums - Mr. Longenu Parsons!"
Longenu does his solo and then throws a drumstick to the crowd.

Adam smiles and walks over to Tommy.
He put his hand on his shoulder and leads Tommy center-stage.

"Ladies and gentleman, on the bass - Mr. Tommy Joe Ratliff!" as he ruffles Tommy's hair.

Adam dances nearby as Tommy does his solo.
Tommy plucks his strings in repetitive rhythm.
Adam sneaks behind Tommy and bounces into him with the rhythm.
Tommy smiles and leans his head back onto Adam's shoulder.
Adam laughs and walks away.
"Aw, ain't he pretty?" Adam giggles.

Adam walks over to Monte and puts a hand on his shoulder.
"And last but not least on the guitar and my musical director - Mr. Monte Pitman!"

Monte does his solo.
"Yeah, Monte!"

Adam walks center-stage.
"Ladies and gentleman, this next song is really what this whole show is about to me personally. What I am TRYING to tell you," he outstretches his hand, playfully beseeching.
"is that no matter how much fame, or success, or money or sex you have in your life..."
He shakes his head.
"It really doesn't mean anything unless you're connected with love."
He gives the 'peace sign'.
Everyone cheers and IF I HAD YOU begins.

"So I got my boots on...."
Dancers join Adam as he sings.

On the chorus, Adam begins jumping on the beat.
"Jump! Come on!"

The crowd bounces along and sings.

"That's right! You feeling it?"
Wild cheers.
"Ladies and gentleman, how about these dancers?
Cheers.
"Right? I want you to meet them. First of all, Terence Spencer."

Terrence does his solo.
"Wonderful, Terrance. Ok! Mr. Taylor Reed!"
Taylor does his solo.
"Ah!" Adam smiles, "Miss Sasha Lowery!"
Sasha does her solo.
"Wow! And last but certainly not least, is my choreographer - the beautiful Miss Brooke Wendell!"

Brooke walks to Adam. Adam moves her hair from her eyes.
She laughs and they begin to dance and then shimmy together.
Adam laughs as she walks away.

Adam walks center-stage and looks out to the crowd.
"Do you think you can sing along with me?"
Cheers.
"Do you know the words?"
Cheers.
"Alright, I wanna hear you guys. Do it loud and proud. Here we go! If I had you...."
Adam holds out the mic and mouths the words with the crowd.

The crowd sings, "The money fame and fortune never could compete.."

"Why?" Adam asks.

Adam takes back the song and brings it full force.
Adam ends the song giving the 'peace sign'. The band and dancers line up next to him.

"Thank you, ladies and gentlemen! Thank you, Las Vegas!"
Deafening cheers as they bow.
"Thank you!"

They all walk off-stage as the lights fade.

The guy from Kentucky asks me, "Is it over?"
"No," I smile, "There's an encore."
"What is it?"
"We'll find out."

Wild cheers and screams. Eventually, the crowd chants, "Adam! Adam! Adam!"

The band comes back out on-stage. The screen is a beauty scene of the cosmos.
Monte begins the acoustic intro to MAD WORLD.
Adam walks out and everyone screams.

"All around me are familiar faces..."

He sings it beautifully. He holds the last note and turns to the band. He gives them a signal to immediately start the next song.
As soon as the note is finished, Monte begins the acoustic intro to WHOLE LOTTA LOVE.

Adam turns his back to the audience. He moves to the music.

He turns and the white spotlight hits him.
"You need cooling. Baby, I'm not fooling.."

He sings it slow, sensual and masterfully.
He smolders and slinks across the stage.

During the song, he climbs the staircase.
He softly ends his lyric.
Wild cheers erupt.
Adam breaks into a huge smile and nods his thanks.
He walks down the steps and picks up a tall glass.
He toasts us and takes a drink.

Monte points to Adam and encourages us to cheer.
Loud cheers.
Monte nods in approval.

Adam walks center-stage.
"Way down inside..."

He gears up for the finale and finishes with unbelievable power.
Massive screams and cheers.

"Thank you, Las Vegas!" Adam smiles and waves.

As he walks off-stage, Monte pats Adam on the back.
Huge bright lights immediately turn on, flooding the venue with light.

I turn to our Kentucky friend.
"Now it's over," I tell him.

He just stands there. He is completely shell-shocked.
"Did you like it?" I ask.
He nods, speechless.

In an interview (just days earlier) Adam had said, "I always try to give a great show. Everyone is paying for a ticket. So I always try to do the most I can do."

As my sister and I make our way out of the water and to the casino, I look at the crowd.
Little kids, married couples, teenagers, gay guys, women of ALL ages.....
They are awed and definitely more then satisfied.

Great concert! Thanks for the awesome concert! Come back soon!!!!!!

proud_mama2

I love you Adam but this venue was a complete POS. They oversold tickets so we sat in 104 degree heat for 4 hours and could hardly see you. My mother is heart broken because this trip to Vegas to see you was on her bucket list. We even called Mandalay Bay in advance to see how many people the venue held. We were told there was going to be 1200 beach chairs and no more then 3000 tickets sold. I know this is absolutely not your fault but it was disappointing none the less. You were fabulous, you sounded amazing and I still love your guts!!! Please come anywhere near Utah again!

BTW, congrats because the staff at the venue said that your show was the biggest show they have ever had. That says a lot about you, you kick ass!

lookitselvis

Just now got back to my hotel room after Adam and crew absolutely slayed Las Vegas. Stunning. Allison was a firecracker, Orianthi sounded FINE guitar- and voice-wise. 100 degrees and the crowd of 5500+ stood for hours in the wading pool like cows. Our backs and feet were screaming. Then Adam and his voice and his smile and his laughter showed up and made it a perfect night. It was no mirage, it was Adam in Vegas, baby.

Please, Adam? Just a little bit further to Phoenix? I'd love to see you in concert, but need it to be local.

Got my tix yesterday. To the fans, MBay is one of the top tier resorts in Vegas. It is a huge wave pool, no sand! To Adam, watch you develop your career and now watch u perform live. So excited! Hope u have a chance to try out all the restaurants and clubs in MBay. Reserve yourself a cabana and a personal massur for everyday u stay there. MBay should comp you for everything since you are not charging appearance fee to show up at the pool. Have fun shopping.

ekpfort42

Can't believe you picked such a venue as Mandalay Beach to showcase such a great entertainer in his first show in Vegas. Are you all insane? It's way too hot at this time of year to do anything outdoors except sit by a pool. It definitely isn't fair to a singer to make him sing in that heat, he'll be melting in 20min. What's wrong with the LVHilton Showroom where Manilow made his home for many years. Hey, it's air-conditioned!! Seats around 1800 & he could make a weekend of it & be in pure comfort. I don't believe those in charge of setting up this particular venue are familiar with our city, its' summer weather or the great choice of Showrooms we have to pick from. If they did, this would not be a good choice now or ever. And with the boxing in town & Adam there the same night it will be a fiasco. Please, please reconsider this move before you put any tickets on sale for all our sakes. Do it especially for Adam & that great voice. He will thank you in the long run.

zanyantiq008

Finally, I've been waiting for so long... Vegas baby!!! I've seen so many concerts at the Mandalay Beach. It's an awesome experience. Imagine a beach in the heart of Vegas with white sand...so refreshing... Only in Vegas. So looking forward to this concert. Have to switch with someone from work just to be in this concert. This will be so worth it and will be the most memorable one for me. Just adore Adam so much...

janettesauer

Outside in the middle of the summer in Las Vegas?! next to a pool?! What happened?! Adam is definitely risking a lot..what if the fans in the middle of the concert start throwing themselves into the pool to placate the burns ... lool

kepilynn808

OperaDiva84
