Adam Lambert spent some time in Canada and dropped by Studio Q in Toronto to talk about his debut album and his career since American Idol. Check out the fascinating interview below!
Ohmygod, HOW MANY TIMES is someone going to say "...including you kissing a male keyboardist".... "including you kissing a guy"... it's like PLEASE, people! It's not a big deal! Get over it!
Other than that, great interview. [And nice shoes Adam.]
Yet another 60+ year old woman who thinks Adam is the most talented person to come along in a very long time, and I'm also a professional in the sexuality education and AIDS field -- do a lot of work around homophobia, etc. I think that what Adam articulates, with such intelligence, insight and sensitivity, starting around the 9 minute mark, is powerful stuff to be shared widely in my field, and I intend to do it! Thanks, Adam
Love the smooth toned down and down to earth conversation. He knows what he is talking about. I can't believe that in the seventies we had David Bowie with his wild trends and gay persona and hard to believe that people still get freaked out when they find out someone is gay. After 30 years of enlightenment I thought it would just be accepted without a blinking of an eye.
Just have to say how much I love Adam's confidence in who he is. I have to send props to his parents for giving him the support and love to allow him to be who he is.
My comment is more about the fact that Adam has to ask his fans to back down on request to these radio stations. I talked to a good friend who is a DJ and she told me that songs take a while to get play time and they are controlled by "The head office" that is why you hear so many repeats. Adams music is newer and it takes time she told me to be programed into the shows. The DJ's do not have any control over the play time what so ever. It is a waste of our time to hound these DJ's for what they have no control over. My friend told me that alot of newer arrtist are not even on the list yet. Just because we know Adams songs by heart and crave for their play time we must be patient. Let the record labels do their jobs and let's not be over zelous. Let nature take its course. Look alot of this is political and we must trust Adams team of people to do their job and what is in his careers best interest. We cannot be negative and on the defense all that does is make us look like a bunch of crazies. I admit I was growing a bit impatient when I would hear other new artist get more play time;however that song may have been release several weeks before and it is finally getting played. Let's chill and enjoy the ride not spoil the ride. Let us support this amazing artist..he's not going anywhere. This give out some positive energy that will embrace him; this is his big break now let's give him one.
i love how you give the truthful meaningful answer to each individual question. u go into detail instead of a "yes" or just "no" it makes the interview much more interesting.
This is my favorite (radio) interview to date. Although the questions were familiar, this interview somehow seemed more in-depth to me...and IMO Adam appeared more relaxed and comfortable in his candor than ever before. Love him.
I just watched your interview, and I truly enjoyed the honesty and cander that you had with your interviewer. I am wondering when you will be doing something here in Southern California. I am truly a fan, I am sorry that I did not watch last season of Idol. My daughter had me listen to this new artist and I fell in love with the cd right away. And then I realized that we had seen you before. We had gone to see Wicked in LA at the Pantages. It was a total blast. I have a feeling that you will go far in this business. And I agree that you should do some Queen songs, you have to voice to compliment the songs. So just keep doing what you are doing and I look forward to your next album.... ktndjsmom@hotmail.com
Adam's so sure of himself, he knows who he is and what he wants. On top of that he's so intelegent and he know's what he's talking about. He's so worth listening to :]
He is so awesome! Love the interview. He listens carefully to the questions and is so polite. He is calm and articulate with his answers, his voice so pleasing to listen to. He is so in touch with his feelings and knows how to express his thoughts about many different subjects. All he wants to do is sing and be himself, but to so many people he is a light in the darkness. His gentle, loving spirit is a force to be reckoned with.
I thought Adam said some really great things, and really made people who criticize him rethink what they've stereotyped him as. And he looks so freaking hot which was a plus. haha. Love ya Adam, way to go!!
Well as I wrote before, it's so interesting to hear you talk. And although the questions might be similar, you always bring something new into the conversation. Thank you ever so muc for sharing.
Adam's visit to Toronto has resulted in gems like this. Love Canadian DJs! This interview is insightful, intelligent and real conversation. Adam is so open in this. Thanks for posting this in this site too, great quality pic.
This interview is one of the best I've seen! Adam can be so himself! really i love it!!! and he always knows what to say :)and adam between sutter nicely ADAM ROCKS!!!
Adam, you are SUCH a great person to interview! You always have intelligent and engaging things to say. This one was one of the best ones (and they're all good!). The interviewer started talking about AMAs and being gay, but you turned it around to a positive note and talked about how you like to dress up, are into the rocker glam, parties and socializing with friends, loving others and having a good time and that you just happen to be a gay man; and that people shouldn't stereotype. BRAVO, Adam!
Adam is a very intelligent person. I look forward to what he has to say. I just wish more questions were asked of him instead of the same ones.I think he has so much more to say. Very smart..very very talented and very interesting!!! Great Job Adam!
Great interview, Adam. Toronto loves you; Ontario loves you; Canada loves you. Hope you can make arrangements to come to Casino Rama (north of Toronto) one day. We would love to have you.

I see this interview here on your site and coincidentally, I'm watching Oprah that goes with some delay here in Brazil. (By the way, I would be the person who was surprised by you). I love Oprah and I know that is a very smart person, but all the interviews I've ever seen with you, that in Canada was the best of all. Congrats to the interviewer. Although the subjects are the same as always, the questions formulated in a very creative and intelligent. I loved it when he asked you what was the revolution that you were starting. Do you know my opinion? A boy of just 28 years, so confident and mature in their beliefs? This is already a revolution! I love you and I will continue rooting for you forever! Congratulations, once again, baby! INFINITE luck to you!!!!
Ah this has been a night of Adam interviews! Heavenly. =) Okay so first: those boots? Sweet as! And I was concerned that here we go again, they always want to talk about him being gay, but he spoke at length about it in a very direct, open manner as usual, going perhaps more deeply into how he's presented and what he can do after being in a public eye but then ending on he very important note that listen, he's into the whole glam scene, the rocker image, the parties, the love, and he just so happens to be gay. So there, let's not dwell on it!
He's always so composed and articulate. I can't stop loving him. Go Adam! <3
Oh My God that was great ! I think what he said would be wonderful about doing sme Queen in honor of Freddie Mercury. WOW you could do it and make it fit. Well got to go Love Brenda A Big FAN
Really loved this interview Adam. Really love your honesty and your point of view. It's really visionary actually, even though it's pretty logical. I really believe most people feel the same way, but the loudest voices that are heard are the ones that are off-base. I think most people agree with you and admire your stance on things. Keep doing what you are doing, because the real revolution that you are creating is that everyone should be themselves, be comfortable in their own skin, and not be afraid to do that. That's so important and it's so simple!!!! Love you Adam!
When I listened to the interview it was captivating. Now I have seen you in the video of the interview I am overwhelmed. I tear up when I hear you speak. You give me such hope. Along the ways, I lost some of my hope. Thank you for bringing it back to me. I love you Adam Lambert. I hope you enjoy your ride as much as your fans do. I will be there for you, through the highs and lows. Hopefully more highs to come. Hope to see you in England when you come over.
After I heard that interview I just wanted to hug you and never let go. You are so cool! I love it so much that you are not at all shy about who you are. I grew up reform Jewish and as an adult I practice no particular religous dogma. I am into psychology, mysticism and spirituality, but I only choose what I know will help me grow. I believe in the values of the 70's as well. I remember some guru saying, "If you start with yourself, you will end with God; if you start with God you will end up going no where." Too many people start with God. I never saw the AMA incident, but I doubt I would have had a problem with it. When I saw the pictures of you on the album I was so amazed at how you are brave enough to shake our cultural hang-ups. More power to you!! Your music, your magnificent voice and your deep emotional passion stir my soul. You as a person stir my soul too. Everyone has always loved James Dean as a rebel without a cause. James Dean did not know what rebellion was compared to you. You are my hero.
Great interview but things I aleady knew about him but he really is great and like his views when it comes to him and the gay community. He makes so many great points. I love him to death and love learning more about him.
