As for the AMA performance, I never got to see it.... But I've been reading lot of articles. reviews on it...... Well, I really don't care about the kissing or the acts you've performed. But neither you had to do it.... You have a gift ADAM.... A talent most people would die for.... So you don't need all this controversy make you talk of the town... You are anyways talked about for your talent since AI. And your career is just starting to blossom and we fans would always follow you whatever you do.... Lurv ya.... smooooooch
The music video is so sexy in a playfully daring way. It toys with bondage and control and deals with fear and danger as we are tempted by the ring master who exposes his dark side and taunts and teases us to explore and share our wild untamed fantasies with him. It's an awesome video and an interesting theme.
On the other hand, the artist seemed to take a much more serious and dramatic approach during his AMA performance where the focus moved away from fun fantasy into a violent approach to the subject matter displaying a sense of sick, twisted confusion causing shock and awe. This, for me personally, was less appealling as many others would agree. But the AMA performance, although arguably taken place at the wrong venue, deserves just as much, if not more, credibility as the video. Both are, in my opinion, interesting works of art. The theme of For Your Entertainment really is an interesting one full of a wide range of interpretation and "do you like what you see" can be stated and interpreted in a variety of ways. I can certainly see how an artist with any sense of imagination would have fun playing with the colorful shades of this darkness.

I bought the download on Adam's FYE CD on Amazon, a little after midnight on 11-23-09. I was suprised it was only $3.99. I then went on itunes to purchase FYE's bonus songs "Master Plan" and "Down The Rabbit Hole" for $1.29 each. After work on 11-23-09, I went to Best Buy to purchse the physical CD of FYE. I also will be purchasing the Collectors Edition of FYE on this website. I absolutely love Adam's new songs. So far my most favorite are Sure Fire Winners, Music Again, Strut, FYE, Pick U Up, Sleepwalker, Fever, Aftermath.and If I had You.
I can handle it, turn it up and entertain me! You've owned my heart from the beginning with anticipation of what's to come. Your burnin' hot now baby!! You know how to work it. Your video is fabulous, sultry, hot, sexy! I also enjoyed your AMA performance. Loved the set, the costumes, the shocker. I could watch and listen to you hours on end. Adam is one of the most talented people I have ever seen. I don't care if he uses sexual images etc. in his work. We are not all puritans in this country and I am sick of the right wing moralists censoring what I see. If you don't want to watch don't watch but don't decide what I should watch.

I lake Adam and i love the song he was singing on the AMA 's . i wasnt that impressed with the proformance but thats adam his choice not mine or anyone else' s im still a huge fan and it ways alot that Adam was proforming on the AMA's Kris didnt . and for you that your children was up it was a school night thas your fault not Adams . i just dont want adam to loose alot of fans after his proformance of which i am afraid that he did . i am getting his cd today and i will always support him no matter what .
This has nothing to do with homophobia. I feel Adam has a right to live as he chooses, but part of that freedom is to respect other people's freedoms as well. He took away people's right to choose if they wanted to watch a gay man make out with dancers and band members. His performance was on a live national television music awards show. Meaning all ages were privy to his display. If his antics were reserved for his concert, that is one thing, the people there knew they purchased tickets for and wanted to see flamboyant Adam Lambert. However, his "performance" on the AMAs basically forced the audience and viewers to watch the opening to a gay sex scene. When they heard Adam was going to perform, I seriously doubt that is what they were expecting! Do you really think he would be where he is if he did that on Idol??? People fell in love for his singing and his stage charisma not for what he pulled on AMA.

Adam, I really do love you. I have 3 copies of FYE. Sunday night's performance was terrible and not because of the gay thing. I do not care who you sleep with. You are hiding behind the "double standard" thing and refusing to admit the truth. Skanky is skanky, no matter what your sexual preference. You are one of the most gifted voices I have ever heard and I have always seen you as a sweet and humble guy who just happens to be gay. I want to see the Adam I loved on AI. Fiery vocals are OK but over the top screaming and flat notes are not. Your vocal performance on Sunday night sucked. Had I not already heard you singing beautifully, I certainly would not watch you again, much less purchase your album. You have such a great voice and charisma you do not have to resort to the bottom of the barrel to get attention. Please learn from this and move on. Quit alienating people. GaGa is beautifully outrageous, but she had an awesome VOCAL performance. You did not. I have heard that your video for FYE has much the same imagery. The best thing you could do right now is to pretend that you never made that video wait a few weeks and release another single that is not suggestive. There are several contenders on your wonderful album. I hope you will listen to the feedback on this site. The people here are your fans. Well I am a fan forever no matter what. The performance was not perfect. It was live so that happens. The outfits were awesome. Adam is pushing the envelope which I think is cool- why not. Kiss a boy and like it Adam-in their face-love it.
You are amazing. You did fall which sucked, but you recovered nicely. I liked the man on a leash thing. I think people need to have a sense of humor and stop being such tight asses. Get over it ladies- He is gay.

After watching your repulsive performance last night, I am ashamed to have you in the gay community. I was a big fan during Idol, downloaded your music from that on my ipod but, no more. You screamed your way through the middle and end of the song, just awful. And, was it really necessary to shove a mans face into your crotch on television with young people viewing? The S & M theme was delightful as well. Hope your acts works for some of the gay community but, the side that wants to put an end to homophobia and adopt children and, hopefully the right to marry will not be up for such a "Castro District" Halloween show.

Great showmanship man. You sounded awesome and it looked like the entire crew had a blast. You know what you're doing, keep going with your gut. Don't let the negativity give you pause. Just look where you are now and its you and your choices that have gotten you there. The man with the angel face and devilishly marvelous voice… I’m neurotically critical when it comes to vocal performance, but oh-my-gosh Adam won me over in less than 60 seconds. Such an incredibly versatile and talented performer! I’m going to have to break my own rule about never buying a complete contemporary album. May you have all the success in the world, you certainly deserve it.
Adam, I love you but you're breaking my heart. If you're trying to self-destruct you got a good start on the AMA show. On AI you said you wanted to be a big star. It's not going to happen like this. What we love is your voice, but if you turn everyone off it lessens our chances of hearing it. Also, your album was so overproduced and the background music, singers and effects so loud that it drowned you out. That could have been anybody's album. Please take the passion of your over-the-top AMA performance and put it into the music itself. You have a God-given gift. Nourish and protect it. The message I'm getting is that you're angry about something and you're taking it out on us. It's okay to be homosexual, heterosexual, bi-sexual, asexual, omnisexual, whatever. But being "in-your-face-shocking" is a turnoff, no matter what. I mean, are you trying to connect to the mainstream audience or send us running for the hills? Michael Jackson aimed for excellence in everything he did, was kind and generous and we didn't care what color his skin was, how many giraffes he owned, or that he grabbed his crotch. Meet us halfway, like he did, and you'll find us right there with you.

BUT....truly, you went over the line on the AMAs. Like others have said, looked like you were just trying too hard. No need to shock us and hopefully many like myself care less about your sexual preference. I didn't tune in and keep watching to the end of the show to see you simulate getting head from a guy or make out with a dude. What you do in the bedroom is up to you and I hope you find happiness, but please don't make it the centerpiece of your talent and your act.

I learned about you after AI, and think you have a great talent. I've watched the AI replays and other performances several times over on youtube and waited for your performance last night with impatience. While I can appreciate shock value and artistic license, I have to tell you that last night's performance was disappointing... and not because of the dancing/kissing, but because of the singing. Don't know if it was nerves, sound equipment or what, but your vocals were way off last night.
Because I love your voice and style, I bought the CD today

Adam, I voted for your constantly on American Idol. Stayed up last night to see your performance. I'm not sure what you think your target audience is, I'm a 68 year old grandmother that appreciated your talent and performances BUT last night sure wasn't the Adam I enjoyed on American Idol.
I'm not prim nor proper (have seen MJ's movie 4 times). If you wanted to create shock value you succeeded. I had hoped you would want a broader audience than who you catered to last night.
My son died 12 years ago of AIDS and your orientation, to me, was an advantage but last night I'm afraid you may have lost a potential long term fan.

I thought your performance was fabulous. I am a straight woman, FWIW, yet I celebrate the wonder and variation of sexuality. Just because I go with men, that doesn't mean that I don't value and appreciate all the ranges of sexual being (from straight to bi to gay to transgender) that a person could possibly enjoy. It's the year 2009, come on! So for you to kiss a man or simulate a oral sex...please. It was part of the performance and you had every right to show the performer you wanted to demonstrate. Good for you, I say!
I think that what makes you so sexy to so many is that you are gay (fine, the gay boys love you) but you also have a really dominant sexual persona that implies that maybe, when you're feeling experimental and perhaps a little extra special naughty dominant, that you could or would include a woman in the mix. Or maybe if you are feeling submissive and she's a little dominant? In other words, your attraction (at least I think) is in part due to the ambiguity and "switch" characteristics that you exude. Good for you, really! That is why I think you are so cool, anyhow!
Keep doing what you're doing, and screw the nay-sayers. If people can handle Britney Spears smooching Madonna and Miley whatever her name is (that Hannah Montana character) twirling around the stripper pole in her bootie shorts, then they can shut their cake holes about your perfectly legitimate and authentic performance last night. Adam is a RISK TAKER. During AI, Ring of Fire was risky. Some people (like Simon) didn’t like it. I LOVED it. Risk taking is RISKY. Some things will work, and for sure some won’t.

I just bought your new album today at Walmart. I missed seeing your performance at the AMA awards but I checked out the video on You Tube. I thought your performance was good and entertaining. I enjoyed watching the dancers too. I am a single mother to a 15 year old and I don't think your performance was in bad taste like what I am hearing others are saying and I don't care if you are gay. I also like Brittany Spears and I remember when she kissed Madonna on stage. What is the big deal? People need to be more open minded. I got to see you at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago on tour with American Idol and I went especially to see you. I hope you tour again in the Rockford or Chicago area. I would love to see you perform again live in concert.

Please, please, please.....don't get too weird on us. I absolutely LOVED you on AI. Your voice and your confidence are amazing. You can sing the heck out of any song. You don't need to shock us. It was a HUGE turn-off and disappointment for me to see your act. I waited all night for it and wanted to kick the TV. There's sensual/sexy and then there's lewd, raunchy and just plain wrong.
Believe me, I have NO problem with your sexuality. I do have a problem with someone with an incredible voice making such a spectacle of himself that I can't remember if you sang the song well or not. Get my point?

As far as last nights performance goes. I thought it went along with what the song was saying. A bit over the top but what the hay. I see worse on regular TV all the time. It was a bit pitchy but the music was loud and if one cant hear themselves thats what can happen.
The critics need to get over themselves and appreciate the God given talent we have been blessed with.
