Even if you’ve never seen an episode of American Idol — or just like to pretend you haven’t — the flashy Season 8 runner-up has become a major point of water-cooler contention and conversation. Everyone’s been talking about his triumphant performances on the show with classic rock icons Queen and Kiss, that chest-baring Rolling Stone cover feature in which he boldly came out of the closet, and the constant stream of tabloid appearances leading up to the arrival of his debut album, For Your Entertainment.

I remember an interview where Adam commented that if we were attracted to his sexuality, then he was 'doing his job'. Sexuality and sexual preference are NOT the same thing. Adam's sexuality has nothing to do with his sexual preference! This is so reminiscent of Freddie Mercury -- an awesomely talented artist who is so often overshadowed by the fact that he was gay. Who cares?? Their sexual preference has nothing to do with their talent. Because of his 'sexuality', Adam attracts fans from all ages. I'm a 43 year old straight woman who has never joined a fan website, but I did for Adam! I'm sick of the backlash of his AMA performance. It was not about homosexuality or S&M -- it was just a charged sexual performance! Go Adam!!!

Adam, When I saw your first performance on AI, I knew that you would be in the TOP 5. When I was able to see all of the talent that they had chosen, I knew that you were the winner. On AI (just as years in the past), the best singer did not win......HOWEVER....one of the best entertainers and singers (in a long time) was found.
My partner and I have been waiting to hear more from you. We LOVED your performance on AMA. It was adult TV, so no it was not inappropriate. There are MANY other well know artist who have done more dangerous stuff than you on a stage. People don't talk about Madonna (back in the 80's) when she master baited on TV at the awards....WTH....You were great ENTERTAINMENT......You will always have our support. Your album is great. Thank you for putting something new and good out there again.

Adam...keep on doing what you do best. You are an incredible entertainer. I love the new CD. Don't let the negativity of the AMA's change anything about you or your performances.
Everyone has to remember that Adam is an entertainer -- not just a singer. There is a big difference between the two. I think of him as Elvis, or David Bowie, back when they were at the top of their careers. It's the 'shock factor'. I think it's ridiculous to get so upset about his AMA performance when you see 'adult material' all the time on television. Kids today see so much worse than anything Adam did -- on television, the movies and video games. Personally, I loved the performance, but I also like people who are not mainstream. Adam has awesome vocal talent, he's true to who he is, and if he upsets you - don't watch him! I would never let one performance change my appreciation of his talent and those 'fans' that did -- well, then they aren't fans. I think he's awesome and my 70 year old mother loves him as well. He's connected to all ages, races and sexual orientation. Stay true to yourself, Adam. Those of us who love you and appreciate your talent wouldn't want anything else!

I agree with zivadiva. Got turned off by your performance of the AMA show. You've got a great voice and don't need to behave in such manner to get attention. Both of your new videos are awesome. I watch you everyday. I've been watching all your videos over and over again. You are one sexy man..i've never said that about anyone before. Haven't gone this crazy over anyone since Michael Jackson. Keep up the good work.
wow. the music video was great, and so was his performance on the AMA's. a bit over the top? not so much, if you compare it to Brittney Spears, Madona, Beyonce. I enjoyed his performance very very much, and his cd even more. Ever since i first heard him sing on AI, i loved him. All his songs are on my ipod, and he will go far in his carreer. love you Adam!!! <3<3<3

I as well was shocked about Adams performance on the AMAs, but now that I've had a couple days to let it sink in, if someone is new to the music industry and performing at such a huge event...your bound to be nervous. And that's what I think it might have been! He's a very dramatic person that was nervous and got a little carried away. He's a awesome talent as we all know, so I hope people will chill out after a couple weeks so Adam can get his career on track. My only advise is- when Adams performing on television (no matter how late, because his younger fans stay up to watch it) keep it somewhat clean and showcase the vocals(like on A.I.). Then in concerts he can go wild and do what we are dying to see him do. That's what will sell out concerts..anticipation! I already bought Adam's cd and listened to it yesterday as I was getting ready for Thanksgiving and it is the most awesome cd. I listened to the whole thing like 4 x's, he really showcased his vocals, it was great! Love it and still love him!

Good for you man! Screw all the haters and the controversy over that kiss! who cares, you are doing wonders to humanity and opening all these ridiculously prejudice and shelter peoples eyes. Your a grown man you can do what you want. People seem to dont have a problem when a child goes on a stripper pole on stage but when a grown man kisses someone they do! so ridic! keep it up!
So i saw your interview on the early show and i think it is awesome that you said what everyone wants to say. I am so glad that you are not going to change who you are for the masses. You are an inspiration because you are you and whoever wants to like you will. And why is it okay for two women to kiss on television but not for two men... and another thing is that you can put on cartoon network and find sexual undertones. So to conclude i think that people are blowing this thing way out of proportion and that you should continue to be who you are.
Two thoughts:
Thank God you didn't win American Idol, or you'd still be in the lukewarm tank of mediocrity demanded by the title -- and your otherworldly talent would be smothered in the safely packaged nothingness of (who's the guy who won, again?).
Secondly -- you've staged a coup that few in recent memory have the balls for. If anyone had not heard Adam Lambert's name before the AMA show Sunday night -- they've sure as hell heard now. You own your world, because there's no one like you -- you're the only one who does what you do, and yeah, that makes it clear that you'll live up to all the "new (gay male) Madonna" hype that's floating round. And here's to you. Go all the way. Can't wait to see what wonders lie in store from you. Just stay creative, honest and don't let the haters dictate what you do.

The performance on AMA was great! Boo to the haters, And once again Idol got it wrong as to who should have really won where yet again who seems to be more popular? Cant remember the name of who got 1st place again

I love your album Adam. Ignore the fair weather fans and haters and keep on being true to yourself. That's where your artistry and happiness lies. I'm a fan for life, I think you are breath of fresh air in an incredibly stale music landscape. Can't wait for more performances, hopefully a tour and more albums to come. Rock on.
