In Aftermath (such an uplifting song!), Adam tells us to "tell a stranger that they're beautiful so all you feel is love." Have you done that yet? I did! Told a gentleman in the restaurant that his head-to-toe turquiose suit was sharp! His smile showed me that he appreciated my comment and that made us both happy! Try it sometime...it's a great feeling!
I love this song! Like every time, Adam can impart all feeling clearly. I usually listen to his song before sleeping. His first album "for your entertaiment" has the most beautiful songs that I'v heard. Love him so much! :X

This song is so wonderful in everyway. It speaks to all of us that just want to see something positive in the outcome of our life choices. Thanks for writing it but more than thaat thanks for singing it so beutifully.
This is my favorite song on the album. Beautiful. I love his voice on this song in perticular. It really shows what he can do outside of screaming. It's sung sorta the same way as 'Whataya Want From Me', calm-ish in the beginning and middle, but at the end we still get a small bit of that extreme, raw power in his voice. Amazing.

Whenever this plays, I get surprised.
It takes me a second to realize, "Oh, this is Adam."
The tone you sing it is so different from the other tracks on the album.
I also think this could have been used as the 'contestant voted off' exit song they play each week on AMERICAN IDOL.
The chorus is perfect for it. It's all about taking chances but if it doesn't work out, you will be OK.
Love that you wrote on your first album : )

WOW - like everyone else - I also just love this song and it's meaning. It's always beautiful when speaking from the heart. If everyone could take the time to see the good in others and respect each other for who they are. What a wonderful world this would be. But, songs like this get people thinking and feeling again. Hi Minnsotaangel, I know you are writing to Adam but I was touched by your comment. I work in healthcare and have a RN (which I am not using in my current job). I am so sorry you are ill and hope that whatever the illness is that you beat it. No one should ever have to suffer so. I am currently taking Vitamin D, probiotics and Fish Oil. Supposedly, they are the cure for everything. Sorry, Adam.
Adam, you are still wearing the rhinestones so you must still be in the same place and time as when you recorded the other messages. I really admire your energy. This song is absolutely beautiful. I am so deeply impressed with how much you are yourself in a world where we are so pressured to be anything but ourselves. I know this is never going to happen, but I wish that I could hear so much more about your journey to become yourself. The songs that you have written-"Strutt", "Broken Open", and "Aftermath" are so beautiful and carry such an important message. It is a message that is so deeply personal to me. My favorite Adam song changes depending on my mood,lol.. But this one is one of my favorites lyrically. I have been waiting for the track by track on this one. Really wanted to know the inspiration behind it. I hope Adam writes more as well.
I hope to see more songs with Adam writing or co-writing on his next project. He has so much to say (sing!) to us that is worth hearing.
I remember right after the CD FYE "dropped" I read a comment somewhere by a therapist who counsels people who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, and the comment was about how useful this song would be in the counseling process to help someone heal from those traumas. That's the power of this song. Yes, I love it, and it's an awesome power rock song!

This song is one of my favorites, I can't really pick one cuz I love the whole album. That said, I looked for the section in the "your profile" part of this site so that I could add my favorite lyrics and it was gone. My favorite lyrics are "before you break, you have to shed your armor, take a trip and fall into the glitter, tell a stranger that their beautiful, so all you feel is love." Those lines are so touching and I think that if everybody did this, the world would be a much better place. Thanks for the music Adam. I listen to it everyday - it keeps me going!

Wow. Like I've said before, I have a 9yr old son, who's an identical twin, and has found his own identity and a brand new confidence through you by adopting your style. With all the struggles he goes thru everyday with being a preemie, an identical twin, and having a condition in the Autism spectrum, he finds this song a source of inspiration during those times when things are the toughest for him. Your are someone he looks up to.

Aftermath has stuck out in my mind as the best track of the album. It really speaks to me, and I listen to it when I am down. Adam is amazing.
Probably my favorite song on the album. Incredible vocals to listen to, but the lyrical message is what sold me. Sounds like it was a great friend collaboration. Should probably do more of that with the next album.
