Whenever I hear Soaked, I picture Adam singing it while lying on top of a grand piano. I would love to see him do this. He could totally pull off a fierce diva moment!

leolovegirl

Of Course I love It, I love it soo much that it tends to make me cry so bad.

I love the composition of soaked, in fact it is my one of my favorites, I love all the songs, but this song makes me feel something, do not, makes me mourn with emotion, I just like and hear almost every day. ^

.
Soaked made me cry a lot each time I heard it the first weeks I got the album. Just was too much to take for me, touched me so deep. Now I can listen to it without crying and really appreciate it.
Beautiful song, beautiful vocal.
Thanks Adam!

It's one of those songs I didn't like at first, and then it eventually grew on me. His voice was so stunning, so magical.

This is my favorite song on the CD, only by a slight margin though since they are all fantastic! I don't interpret it the same way though. The picture it painted in my head immediately reminded me of the Police song "Don't Stand So Close To Me". You know the whole, "wet bus stop/she's waiting/his car is warm and dry". To me the song is about finding comfort, even if it's only for a night. It may be a one night stand but "it's not the first time (that someone's done it) /it's not the worst crime/your soul WILL be ok. I just love the music and vocal arrangements in this song. It is so rich! When I first listened to it I swear I could hear moments of Freddie Mercury in there but now that I have listened thousands of times all I hear is you, not the latest incarnation of anyone. You are a unique talent that is all your own!

adivianna

One of my favourite song. I love music, lyrics and Adam’s voice... all together so moving. I wish I could hear Adam’s wonderful voice everywhere. As far I’m big fan of figure skating and my favourite skater is Staphane Lambiel I made my first video montage dedicated to both Adam and Stephane. Wouldn’t it be nice to see Stephane Lambiel skating at “Soaked” by Adam Lambert?! Vid you can find on YT (Soaked by Adam Lambert and Stephane Lambiel) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dbw_5GQ9ZMo

Thank you for this! Soaked was in this album one of those songs I grow into. At first hearing I was stunned by Adam's vocals but wary of mixed music. second hearing I got into and love this song more every day.

JMAC

Love your insights. This song and your vocals on this song are stunning!! It is an emotionally intense song and one that most people love the first time they hear it. I have heard many of the Muse fans say it is good as well and that is amazing too. They are very harsh critics.

mercurylambert

Adam, your description of the song is amazing and every reference you made, I hear in the music. I did not realize that "soaked" was to be drunk in this song, but now it has even more meaning to me. I've played it over and over and I'd love to see you do more and more of this style music....especially Queen-like songs. I've never believed that anyone could handle Queen songs and my beloved Freddie Mercury, but you are blessed and could do it all!!!

pdimond

This is my favorite song on your For Your Entertainment CD. It really showcases your amazing voice--and I love the message. As humans, we tend to mess up now and then--but it's our soul that is important.

WindGoddess

This is my favorite song from the album and I am so happy that he got to work with Muse on this one. He must have felt honored and I believe that who ever from Muse wrote it was happy with their decision to have Adam sing it.

The reason why this particular song touches me so deeply is because when I first heard the words and beautifully haunting melody.. my brother had passed away very unexpectedly just days before. So you can imagine how extremely emotional I was in every conceivable way... it just pierced my very soul and made me want to reach out and hug my brother for comfort, wishing he was right beside me, yet knowing that indeed his soul was 'okay'..

Cybergranny

Thanx Adam for telling us the origin and meaning of "Soaked". I, too have played it over and over. I can never listen to it just once. And despite all that's been said about the lyrics, the part that turns my insides to mush is when you hit that high pure perfect note on the word "enough"...."When you've had, etc. Please don't ever stop singing that kind of song. It showcases that gorgeous voice of yours like nothing else.

Year 28 is the one!!!

"It's not the first time, it's not the worst crime, Your soul will be OK" Those lyrics, especially coming across in your voice, are very affirming. I loved this track the first time I heard it, and look forward to it every time I listen to your CD. It seems to say, 'Yeah, this isn't ideal, but look, it's not the worst thing in the world either. It's OK for now." Your rendition lends compassion to the lonely soul. I see something in you that tells me your soul is definitely OK. You come from a good place.

georgia1

this happens to be one of the tracks that i hit replay over and over again...it sets a mood.......and you have the ability to share that in your songs are so heartfelt....and people can relate to it...we all want to feel that we or our souls will be ok.....i thank you for that

banczak

I am so excited to hear you refer to the sound of a James Bond movie. That was my first thought the very first time I heard it. I love your attitude and your music. Thanks for making me smile everytime I listen to your music.

'Feeling Good' was one of my favorite moments for you on AI. It was actually the first clip of you I had my sister to watch.
She was like, "I'm so over Idol."
I said, "Just sit & watch you NEED to see Adam."

After you walked down that lit staircase and sang so beautifully, she was convinced.

"Oh my gosh!" she said, "I love him!"
"I know," I said, "But I saw him first."
You officially got a new fan for life that day Smiling

Anyway, down to SOAKED. This is why I like these little 'track-by-tracks' you are doing. I never associated the lyric 'soaked' with being drunk. I took it to mean depressed (soaked in tears). But I totally see how it would mean intoxicated.
I also think the song has a bit of THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL by ABBA feel at times.
Thanks, Adam Smiling

vamptramp69

I listened to this song once again after I watched this video and it has soo much meaning too it for me even more then before I can relate too it so much. Its an amazing song babe I love it and you are amazing.

ILoveAdamALOT69

I think "Soaked" is one of my favorite song's on his CD. Well, I do LOVE them ALL. But it's my fav. Anything Adam does is great.

Peroxide Pixie

If it wasn't for Soaked I probably wouldn't know anything about Adam, I'm a huge Muse fan who has been converted over to Adam as well. Love this track.

romeopeach

Being a 'cool' mom (my 20-something kids and their friends words, not mine!) has its advantages. They often refer to intoxication (lol) as being 'soaked', so I kind of got it when I first heard the song. Your musical interpretation of this song is beyond words. This song and Broken Open are gut-wrenching emotion. It conjures up images of raw emotional support of another human being with an edge of sexiness, passion and comfort. I can see a scenario being played out of two lonely people, late at night...I'll leave it at that. My imagination gets the better of me. Thank you for singing with such passion and emotion. We all feel it.

Aresina

Adam, I love all the songs on your album and I just keep listening to it every day...but this Soaked...it is just so beautiful and what makes it such an awesome song is your voice, your brilliant, gorgeous, awesome voice - the notes and the lyrics compliment your voice and the result is breathtaking - the song rips my heart out...in the best possible way =)) just keep singing, make more records as you probably have no idea how much you move people's hearts all around the world and how much joy your voice brings to people!! Thank god for AI for making you a household name <3 3 <3

Adams1fanRhiannon

Thank You for everything you do for your fans! You are the best!

This song was the reason I bought For Your Entertainment - I admit it. It was the first track I listened to in completion and I was floored by it. I've since found the Muse demo for "Soaked" and it doesn't fit them (as good as they are at what they do) as well as it fits Adam. I'm never not in the mood for it and it's power is immense, both vocally and musically! A personal best so far.

Csilla

Okay, so there's something about this that moved me almost to tears. The simple set up, the simple beauty of Adam, and then his charming articulation and interpretation of the song--he's out-of-this world amazing, and yet I can't be thankful enough that he's in our world.

Similarly, "Soaked" is such a great stripped down classic kind of ballad that focuses on the lyric and the melody, and it's so vulnerable and yet comforting, too, just as he says. To feel reassured by a singer, to believe the lyrics as he performs his art is a very extraordinary thing, and yes die-hard fans submit very easily to this, but Adam's talent reenergises the playing field. I love Muse a lot, too, but Adam puts his original spin on it.

I didn't think of reference of being drunk, but drinking away sorrows or looking to find love in the unlikeliest of places is definitely something many of us can relate to. I thought of it to be more like standing in the rain, trying to wash away that sadness, not caring whether or not we get soaked to bone; just wanting to forget it all in the sea of sorrows and feeling like we'll sink to the bottom with the burden on our soul.

But I really love the lyric "our souls will be okay" transformed from "your soul will be okay" because as the 'you' becomes 'we' we can see that we're not alone, that there's someone there with us. It's a beautiful thing. I can keep going. But I'll stop and end on the note: I love you Adam, thank you!

lovebuglena

This song is very beautiful and so heartfelt. It really gets to me. I would even say it can bring the tears. That's how moving it is. Your vocals and your voice are brilliant on this song (as is the case in all your other songs). If you don't end up winning some Grammy's soon I will be very shocked!

Concordiagirl03

Adam, again...thank you for interpreting your song. What a great message Soaked has, and the instrumental piece blends so well with your voice!
"It's sheety" Eye-wink

I absolutely love soaked and not only are the lyrics amazing but Adam’s voice is just breathtaking and perfectly suits that song.

♪ﱡBĄŖBĻŞﻬ♪

This song is something very special. Not only are the lyrics absolutely beautiful, but your voice just touches my soul. The lyrics express such a universal struggle most people have experienced waiting to find that that one person to love. The lyrics "Soaked to the bone Sink like a stone I will take you home It's not the first time It's not the worst crime Our souls will be OK" are just so beautiful. I only wish you would sing "Soaked" on TV to a national audience. When they hear you sing this song, they will not be able to resist you or your amazing voice. You are pure magic!!!

ladyvenom415

I've lost count at how many times I've gone "looking" for love. I have even used my sister's ID to get into bars then. I can totally relate to this song, and you're right Adam--my soul is OK. "Soaked" is definitely noe of my many favorie songs on the album.

One good woman

Another great song on your album. It's so wonderful to hear you talk about the lyrics and the writings of the song. You are an amazing singer and performer. I believe you are also an amazing human being, too. Thanks for everything you bring to us, your fans.

Glambertastic

Most of us can relate to looking for love through a haze of blitzed desperation. The results can be overwhelmingly disheartening, but we all need human affection, so we can't be so hard on ourselves for trying to find someone for the now. Lust and love can be so easily confused, especially while intoxicated. One night stands happen, and they happen because we all need somebody, even if it's the wrong somebody with a fleeting connection to us and with whiskey shots on his breath.

When you sang Muse's arrangement of Feeling Good on Idol, I was so overcome with emotion because I have always completely loved their version. Muse must have felt the same way, because they wouldn't just collaborate with anybody. It is obvious that you are humbled and honored to have been gifted this song from such an iconic and reputable band. It makes me really happy for you, and for us as listeners.

allsugarjet

I'm glad I can finally understand the true meaning of this song. When I first heard it, i thought it sounded a bit James Bond as well. I really love this song though. Its so deep and so many people can relate to it.

Now before my mind runs away with words and my fingers go crazy with praise, I'll just say beautiful job, and don't ever stop doing what you are now...because I love it. Smiling

Dancequeen

Adam, This song hit the heart and soul of how many have felt over the years when we are vulerable and weakened by alchohol. Sometimes we hit that low place in are life; however this song assures us that we will be OK and we have hope no matter how pathetic one can feel about onesself. The human connection can be powerful. You have captured that in most of your music; and no doubt in this song. You are wise beyond your years in the way you connect with people. Your Mom was right when she said on the Morning Show she is so proud of the impact you are having on so many. I bet you pinch yourself at times when you are told this. I always told my kids You are a leader just remember to always be aware of where you are leading others..it is a resposiblity you should always and never take lightly. I think something special happened when you realized the impact you had on people when the AMA's stirred such a fuss. I think you got the answer to your own question very quickly and have handled with grace and amazing charm. Adam your are part of the world now. Is it not ironic how most of your music on your CD reflects that very huge message. I just cann't wait to see what is next.

Adam, you are a comfort!
