Love this article! Thx for posting Oshi!
thanks for the post :]
AegeanBlue I'll check it out as well. Sometimes they have the info wrong.
And KatieJ LOL of course that's it!!! he's the seductress.
To KatieJ -
@Oshi:
I DO love you, sweetie. Your optimism is contagious.

@pago:
Well, we know Adam would be the seductress! LOL.

Cookiebr8: I'm really excited about his Idol appearance. I think it will be a big boost! And right about the time he returns from his trip. Perfect. I can't wait to see what he does...as usual!
KatieJ - I am so optimistic! He is the first openly gay singer to ever be singed as such to a major label. That takes Middle America a little adjustment. His cd was released Nov. 23rd, in the worst economy since the depression. Sales are now very different than even 2 years ago, with everything going digital. People have so many free sites to go to, to listen to his music! Even the sales of Gaga, Rihanna, Keisha, etc. are way down compared to how they would have been just a few years ago. SuBo is the exception because her audience is of the cd generation. Look at all Adam has accomplished since November:
*FYE Gold in the USA, Canada, and Singapore (More to come shortly, I am sure!)
*WWFM gold in digital downloads
*Top 50 in sales (HDD) for every week since release but 1
*Massive amounts of teevee appearances
*Media constantly referring to him as a rising superstar
*Nominated for a PCA
*Outstanding reception on the International Tour.
*AO considered to have one of the strongest, hardest working, and most dedicated fan bases in the industry
KatieJ - I could go on and on
As @ed says - This is a marathon not a sprint.
Keisha and Beiber will be gone in a few years. Not Adam. Slow and steady wins this race. He will win it! He is winning it! Have faith!
I'm sure I saw the Dateline thing posted on twitter. It's on NBC tonight 9-11pm. But someone may have confused Dateline with Nightline now that I think about it. I'll tune in anyway not much else on tonight.
I could swear it was posted by 19e on twitter.
Dateline is on NBC and I'm looking at the Comcast info It states "The Doctor's Wife" Correspondent Dennis Murphy delves into a case that spins around a divorced doctor, a dating service and a seductress. I sort of hope he's not on this one.
@Aegeanblue:
I kinda have that feeling as well about the international stardom leading to bigger stardom in the U.S. I mean, he is our homeboy, and Americans can be very possessive of their stars and don't want to be outdone by others.
Where did you see the info about Dateline? I haven't seen that posted yet. What network is Dateline on?
Gotta do a search on Comcast to make sure I don't miss it!
KatieJ
Adam is appearing on Dateline tonight and then Nightline later tonight.
IMO, Adam has been looked at as more of a international star, hence the promo abroad. Once he goes big internationally then the states will come around, it all takes time. It is fantastic that his album has gone gold in three countries within 4 months of release. And WWFM is also gold here!
I'm not even expecting a states tour until the end of this year, maybe early 2011.
In the meantime I spend my time promoting Adam with voting, requesting and viewing all of Adam's videos! We are the foundation that the castle is built on.
I agree, cookie. Song choice and presentation on Idol will be important for getting fans back who may have jumped ship. But I am still anxious about him being put out there for a broader audience. The VH1 unplugged was probably great for more exposure. Gotta trust his PR team. But I get the feeling from the drop in participation on this board that not that many people are actively involved in support anymore. Like voting and requesting. That worries me. It's like how people stopped voting for him at the end of Idol. They figured he was a shoe in and didn't bother. Figured someone else would to it. I feel like that's happening now.
I guess it takes time, more time than we have the patience for as fans. Those working with artist promotion must have ENORMOUS patience. It's such a competitive and fickle business.
KatieJ
Not the greatest article.....you cant tell it was written either a long time ago or put together from other sources. Still, it is promotion.
@Katie....the US is going to take longer to come around. I know how you feel about wanting Adam to be big here, so do I. The only way we can help that is by requesting, voting on VH1, things like that. Being great ambassadors for Adam. I keep busy also collecting donations of Adam's album for people...most currently to go to the Latin Glamberts.
I think if Adam were to go on AI and do a beautiful acoustic song, that would be huge.....maybe a good bump in sales. The idol audience knows Adam can wail. I think a song like Broken Open acoustic would be awesome. JMO.
Speaking of good and bad press, I haven't seen anything much about the drug use promotion misquote spreading the way the SuBo crap did. I think that's good news, since it would be really bad press, yet I have to say I am getting just a bit concerned that I see so little about him anywhere. I realize his PR team doesn't want people getting sick of hearing about him, oversaturation and all that, but I am also concerned that interest out there (not speaking about his diehard fans like us) is waning. Sure, he's doing overseas promo, but I want to see him becoming huge here in the U.S. and that ain't happening yet. Didn't want to start a negative thread, so thought I'd mention it here. I've also noticed a real decrease in posting over the last couple of weeks.
What do you guys think? I hate lulls. It's nail biting time.
KatieJ
This article looks like a cut an paste job. I highly doubt anything in it is current. Look at the album sales statistics. I think Adam has sold a LOT more than 553,000 albums by now.
Everything, including the quote about a tour, is old news. I remember this quote from over a month ago.
Can't wait to get some really NEW news about a tour.
But it's always good to see any positive press about Adam!
