Not too sure about this...
I just came from another Adam forum, where some of the more fanatical fans chase away anyone who shares even a slightly different viewpoint than them. Thus, I'm a little hesitant about joining this forum. I don't want to run into those kind of fans again. The rules make me think this place should be safe, but is it? Is it okay to disagree or discuss things that contrast popular opinion.O_o And would creating a forum about the dark side of the fandom be okay? It wouldn't be a flame thread, but this is a growing problem on a lot of boards, and I think it would be healthy to talk about it somewhere.
I hope I'm not making a bad first impression, the situation has just left me stressed.@_@
By the way, does anyone know how to make it so you view posts in the order they are posted? Last time I was here, I always saw the most recent posts in a topic first, with the post that began the topic being last. This is really wierd and impossible to adjust to.@_@

@syberiaWinx welcome to AO. This site has many kind of fans and posters, all ages, different countries, different opininions = as Adam's fan base is diverse. You are welcome to post here! Personally I think every opinion is welcome, I do not think anyone should be afraid posting their opinion here. Sometimes someone attacks so negatively against Adam he/she is obvious troll, best to ignore. But troll is different than saying someting critical about Adam. If your read threads for a while you get feeling what kind of things and topics usually arose in different threads and might find thread where you are comfortable posting. It took me for awhile before I started actively posting and here I am closing 1000 posts mark-when did that happen

Though it may not have been your intention.....I think your reply will/ would scare away people that could have a really honest, loving contribution to this site.
I think you underestimate Adam himself when you insinuate that only complete unadulterated praise is welcome.
I LOVE Adam Lambert....as does everyone here.
I also LOVE my husband....but does that mean I must live out our marriage without criticism or complaint? To do so would be what?....a betrayal or a proof that I do not love him? You can't be married, to believe that.
I don't have children, but i do have step-children.......trust me, they got criticism and then some! You know why?......because I loved them!!
Critique is not a bad thing........it is often an act of love. I am NEW here too.....but be damned if anyone is going to intimidate me into being/saying something that I am not. That is What AL stands for.........
Speak your truth.......as I said in my initial post here......as long as you are here for the RIGHT reasons (loving AL)....we welcome you and all you have to say.

You know that this is Adam's official site, right?
So, for fans putting Adam down on his own site might seem a little weird to people who come to lurk.
Everyone has the right to think that this or that wasn't to their taste; but then they may find another place to discuss that.
People here easily disagree on many things, but especially when "newbies" come to AO and post negative stuff about Adam, you will usually see EVERYONE gather in Adam's defence - as it should be on an official fan site.
Be free to post in the Adam discussion forum, but think before you press the save button - Adam may come by and read what you've been writing.
Hey, Siberia! Welcome. I have never seen anything here in the way of typical Neanderthal comments, e.g., "Oh, yeah, dass cuz U R stoopid;" but you should expect some passionate remarks if you disapprove of anything Adam. But even that's calmed down a lot over the last few months, though. I'd chalk it up to perhaps all of us starting to relax and breathe a little, knowing Adam is on his way now and we don't have to be so wildly protective.
However, if you find yourself being attacked unjustly, by all means, stand up for yourself. I've seen folks under the gun do this and it usually turns into a lively, good-natured discussion. And I've seen more than a few apologies issued. So enjoy!

I think you should feel pretty 'safe' here expressing your opinions. Most here seem passionate, loving.....yet sane. ha
I understand your concern....we all need balance and honesty and the freedom to express it. That's what love is after all....and a certain 'love' is what brought us all here to AO.
The problem (not just here, but unfortunately in general) is that certain people seek out these platforms to spread their hurt and hate. Such sad souls. Those are the ones that are not welcome.....they are here for no other reason than to try and spoil the party.
I think most here are able to tell the difference.
So share your honesty......I plan to.

I'm not so sure this forum is for me, then. As much as I love Adam, I want to be able to dislike a performance or outfit or whatever. I've never been mean or flamed him, but I'd like to be able to say "I prefer the way he performed this song on this show" without being attacked. If that is not permitted here, it's not really intersting to me. I want a place where people can be open-minded and civiliy share their opinion.
And I don't think we're talking about the same fans. I'm talking about the fans who ignore, mock, humiliate, chase away, or flame anyone who disagrees with their opinion or wants to have an actual discussion about it. The ones who flame and threaten people like Kris Allen and such on Twitter for whatever reason. In other words, the fans that are attacking people. There's a fine line between that and the over-the-top fans Adam has mentioned from time to time.O_O
I have been posting here for several months.
Highlights of the site: You will get to see the latest information about Adam, his tours, his interviews, his activity on the map, and very intimate-loving interactions with his Fans. He has come here LIVE via chat to talk to fans. He has commented about his OTT fans on this site often. And the loyalty here.
It can be a bit dicey if you are very negative about Adam. So.. that said... I would suggest you keep your posts supportive towards AL, in order to keep all things friendly here. I am nobody to say what anyone else should or should not do. I have no authority on this topic. I just hope that ALL fans feel Welcome here.
