Random Pondering (:
I was inspired to create this thread because I'm online right now - obviously - and I just wanted to know what's going on. I see that not that many people are online right now - so I want to know...
What's happening in your world? What's going on?
Just share anything you want to. Random, weird, frightening, headache-inducing, provacative, creepy, hilarious, saddening - anything (:

@Nelli
Busy busy! And yes, I saw on twitter that it was Sauli's birthday! I realized I didn't know how old he was until I saw that it was his birthday. What a coincidence too! I can't believe your newphew's name is Sauli too! Wow!
Hey @Miss A
How are you doing these days?
I've been quite busy lately and haven't had the time to visit AO much. Been so tired lately too because there's not enough time to rest! But hopefully things will calm down soon.
It's Sauli's birthday today, he's three weeks and two days younger than I am
oh and btw, my nephew's name is Sauli too
@Czarevich
You're welcome
Come by and chat when you can!
@Everyone
How is everyone? Have to get this thread rejuvinated! I bet everyone's been fawning over all the juicy Adam-related news coming out around this time!
Thank you, Miss A, for giving me a place to deposit my random words.
Bravo, bravo, bravo, ma cherie. So spare in words, yet so powerful in commentary. It really is a fine art.
I'm excited for this:

@Nelli
Great to hear that you're doing good
I wish I were old enough to drink wine....and that's awesome that WWFM is still being played. I've only heard it 3 times where I live since it came out. Pity.
@Everyone
Hello! Unfortunately, as fast as spring break is coming up, millions of deadlines have popped up. And unfortunately, this is the week I've chosen to be lazy. My plan is to finish 2 whole art pieces by Thursday / Friday for a competition. Insanity? At first I wasn't going to complete them, but I'm just so disappointed in myself - so I've decided to attempt the impossible. As long as I don't sleep, I think I'll be good >_> Oh my....
Hey @Miss A and everyone else too
Thank goodness it's already Thursday, this week has been a rocky one. Four legged Nelli is hitting some pre-puberty age.. Really looking forward to the weekend, going to visit a dear friend. Some wine, good food and lots of girl talk!
Yesterday WWFM was yet again the first song on the radio when I headed to work! It's nice they're still playing it so much
Hello all!
Sorry I haven't been on here in an extremely long time. I really ought to visit more often! But I've just been seriously busy and this site doesn't come up nicely on my cell. How has everyone been?
I get to learn to drive near Lambert road
:D:D Love the fact that road exists near me
That is such an enigmatic passage.
Well since I won't be seeing you in all the old familiar places, hopefully I'll get the pleasure of your company elsewhere. I've gleaned from around here that the official fan club is all but defunct, but maybe I'll check it out to see if it's revived if only to see you there. Sorry, toots, you're stuck.
I realize now that I could have left my message to you here instead of the castle, but I'll leave it as it stands.
au revoir
Edit: I decided out of respect to you to remove the post so as not to create any unnecessary head scratching.
Czarevich, the way Saramago chose to write gave the story an immediacy that a different style probably would not have.
... now I'm pondering a thread move and a subsequent poof...
“I have to confess that I had gambled on my soul and lost it with heroic insouciance and lightness of touch. The soul is so impalpable, so often useless, and sometimes such a nuisance, that I felt no more emotion on losing it than if, on a stroll, I had mislaid my visiting card.” ~ Charles Beaudelaire
Maybe I should go to the library...
What intrigued me the most is what one reviewer wrote regarding the writing style:
You never quite feel you can see what's going on, you feel that your viewpoint is constrained - in fact, you feel partially blind.
Czarevich, we'll both have our books ready for the weekend! I was able to get mine from the library. I'm glad you researched my recommendation so you'd have an idea what you're in for.
@Bud, good to see you're in on this, too. @Nelli, the library is a treasure house.
I investigated "Blindness" and cannot wait for April. I'm going to get it this weekend. I'm intrigued and a little frightened as well.
Shizzle, Nelli, you are made of sturdy stock. Awww, boring sucks a huge one. It's nigh 1 am here, so I'm off to slumber. Hope things get more interesting in your office. Later
Czarevich, are you kidding me, I think the weather's been feeling so warm lately
The coldest weather this winter where I live has been around -22 degrees in your scale, so 28 is nothing compared to that.
It's so boring at the office, someone want to fill in for me?
You're probably accustomed to it, but still. Burrrrrrrrr! You need a coat like four legged Nelli.
@Czarevich, yesterday morning the weather was really nice and the sun was shining, the temperature was probably -2 ºC so about 28 degrees in your temperature scale
I so envy your 80 degrees... right now it's misty and raining in Finland, blah
@bud, I too would love to constantly buy books, but I'm trying to keep it under control. Me and my siippa
bought a house recently so now there's plenty of room for books!
Although just going to the library usually does the trick for me, I don't have to own the book to be able enjoy it.
I forgot to ask Nelli what the weather is like where she's at. Where I am, it was so seductive today. Like 80 degrees.
Bud, your loft sounds romantic.
Buddy (I read a while ago the back story to your user name, so I know I'm not totally out of line for taking liberties)! I'm so happy I inspired you. I hope you cherish the story. At the very least, are entertained. Can't believe it almost went unshared with the world.
Lapis, I'm so frickin frackin thrilled you have it! I'm jealous. My friend loaned me the book when I first read it. Then I bought my own copy and then ended up mailing it to my dad. I don't currently have a copy, but plan on rectifying that one day. Of course I'll be disappointed if you don't like it, but I know you'll at least see it through. I think it's genius. About Peoria, ya know, some "lightning rods" and "firebrands" just don't have the patience for my simplistic ilk. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahah And you a day late and a dollar short? Uh, I don't think SO. More like you don't always have the time and attention for ALL of my shenanigans.
Y'all were so interested in Dunces that it got me all excited.
It really looks like a book thats right up my alley.
I actually downloaded it on kindle. I love kindle for this sort of thing.Dunces sounded so good and I have no patience so within seconds here it is.
I love the feel of books but I am overrun by them in my loft so I've been using the kindle for novels and memoirs but still buying art books as tangible objects .
Czarevich, I now have the Dunces book in my possession and will begin reading it this weekend.
and I am a day late and a dollar short, but your location is a hoot.
@glammer okay
Hi Glamberts, @SophieAquarius:
at one time we all had numbers mine is 5124, I think this went back to last year, maybe you could find the thread. good luck
Hi everyone! I just had to come here to tell this, made my morning a whole lot better. When I started my car this morning and headed to work WWFM was the first song on the radio!
I'm always a little sad when I leave the house in the morning because I hate leaving our dog home alone, although she seems to cope just fine. And it was, and still is a beautiful morning so it was a real nice drive with good music.
Miss A, et al., thank gosh almighty for this thread because this is REALLY random. At least to those not in the know (which is probably everyone). How can someone remain charming even while acting disenchanted? I couldn't go say it directly, so...
Nite
@Sophie hmmm...I've always wondered about that...I would assume thousands, but I don't know if there's any way to tell :/
how many members are there on this forum?
(as in total signed up not how many are on right now)
@czarevich I caught myself using the language from the book after I read it. I still use "hither" a lot...I get weird looks from people, but it's a fun word to use. And, yeah, we've become to lazy with our words over the centuries
Whether ere, thither, or now, hither, thouest is always a pleasurable presence (no idea if that grammar was correct). I loved the poem. So sweet and yet so majestic. The fact that you would even seek out the book makes me happy. I think you'll be hooked by just the foreward. If you don't like the book, that of course will be fine, but I KNOW, from what I can surmise of your illumed mind and sense of humor, you will love it. Ignatius O'Reilly will live on in my heart forever. Books are so expensive, but my birthday comes up in a little over a month and I always get B&N gift cards. I look forward to your book recommendation.
Czarevich, the next time I visit the library, I'm going to see if the Dunces book is there. Can't guarantee that I'll like it, but it won't hurt to give it a try.
Here's a recommendation for a book I liked with an unusual narrative style that I found rather compelling. It's "Blindness" by José Saramago. He was the 1998 Nobel Prize winner for literature.
and a charming poem for you by Jack London...
http://www.jacklondons.net/writings/poetry/SeaSprite.html
Miss A, I was going to try and persuade you to read Dunces, but then I didn't want to find out that you couldn't make it past page 38.
I was cracking up through the whole book. I kept texting passages to my friend who lent it to me. The story behind the author (his suicide eleven years prior to the publishing), his mother's (almost) futile attempts to have it published posthumously, and then the book going on to win the Pulitzer is all so fascinating before even the first word is read.
Jenn, I found the introduction laborious as well. Whenever I am less than stimulated by something deemed a great piece of work, I assume the failing is on my part. I loved the language of the book. I'd definitely read it again. I've been using hither and thither lately in place of here and there. We've gotten so lazy in our language. When did "wherefore" become "why." haha
This is my first time stopping by this thread! I might have to do it more often!
I read "The Scarlet Letter" a little while ago, for class. I had to do a bunch of projects on it too. blah
But it was a *decent* book. It was so boring in the beginning, but it got better towards the end. Even though it was kinda easy to guess what was going to happen. It's interesting reading about how Puritan life would have been like in the 1640s.
Anyways, love this thread!
@Czarevich
Unfortunately, I have never read that book. I can see why you lost respect for your boss though. I get dissapointed when people don't like my reccomendations. And I've never read "The Scarlet Letter" either :/ I guess I need to catch up on my reading. At least your boss managed to read 60 pages <3
Has anyone read, "A Confederacy of Dunces?" It may have to be my favorite book if I was ever forced to pick one. I loaned it to a boss I had who told me she loved to read. I was shocked that she returned it after reading only 60 pages and said, "Why would you think I'd like that?" Even though I loved her, I kind of lost respect for her, and I believe deservedly so.
I just read for the first time, "The Scarlet Letter." How could anyone manage to be that stoic?
Watching Blades of Glory! Is this okay to say in random? LOL
@Pumpkins1979
Go to your profile page, click edit, click personal information, and instert text in the City box. Welcome
Miss A
Since you were so helpful, I'm wondering if you can do it again. I feel like such a dweeb. I can't figure out how you add the text that appears under your avatar and user name. Gracias!
You actually DID sound a bit like an infomercial, but that's actually a good thing. They have the power to suck me in.
@Pumpkins1979
Welcome!
I'm glad you wandered in...more to add to our discussions. Anyway, to your question concerning twitter. Yes, it can be like public texting. However, there is a "private" setting which hides all your tweets from anyone who you haven't approved. So in case you're worried about privacy, that can be taken care of. I enjoy twitter because you can follow celebrities or people who have the same interests as you. Right now I'm following Adam (of course) and a few Glamberts. Twitter has been helpful for me because I can view it easily on my phone at school (I know, bad). Right now I don't have a lot of followers...but I'm working on it. Followers are sort of like your "friends" but you aren't interacting as much with them. They tweet something, you read it. You tweet something, they read it. For me, twitter pretty much eliminated my need to look up links, etc. which were posted on twitter. The information is right in front of me. I think the whole appeal revolves around the fact that people can be connected to whoever / whatever they wish.
I hope that I answered your question alright without sounding like an infomercial!

Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.
Miss A
Wish I'd known of your thread at some crucial times.
I saw this upfront last night and wondered in for a minute. I have a lot of random, weird ponderings.
But my question tonight for you has to do with Twitter. And I ask you not just because you're the host, but because I caught a post where you said you've become addicted to Twitter. I don't use it or know anyone in my personal life who does. As an outsider, its appears to be like public texting. I can see where it would be a huge platform for disseminating information. Kind of like a grapevine. But on a personal level, not a business or person promoting itself/oneself, what is the appeal or target? I'm just really fascinated by how popular it seems around here, and yet I know no one using it in my life. Thanks!
@adamsmeow Thank you for seeing that our concerns were heartfelt. I am definitely not a hater. It's just a change. And I want Adam to gain a wider fan base. Our BB has to do good! (:
@Shellybb --+ Ms A.. Your concerns about Adam's direction in music industry are heartfelt.
It shows you care. We have been on this journey-from day #1, and take it quite personal, what
he does with his career. I do trust that he has more, far more, up his sleeve than what
he gives out, each opening that he gets-to create, and share his creations. I believe his business
mind is working 24/7. He needs to be on top of the game. It is a sacrifice.
I remember him saying, when they asked--often, that he didn't want to be
boxed in--and felt he could sing multiple genre', which I still think he has in mind. Just that the
pressure is on, for him to grow a wider fanbase. He really wants this.
He is so incredibly talented, with a voice like no one else alive/or passed on. He resembles
long term icons, , and they are his role models. I think he will stay close to Queen, and others
in that music, and give us something to knock our socks off-when timing is perfect for him to do it.
I also try to listen to the pop channels, and all I really want to hear is Adam. I am not drawn in by
that sort of music. Adam has my attention completely, and that alone indicates to me, though I am not
an expert, that he has the ability to keep his fans entertained for decades.
I think we will all be thrilled as time passes in what he delivers. I think his next tour will outdo GNT! That
blew me away, and sold out everywhere!
@shelbybb
Thanks for dropping by! And don't worry - I don't see you as being a hater. In fact, I value your opinion. I've had similar thoughts lately and I'm just so glad you voiced yours.
*Pondering 101**
I ponder many things regarding poor Adam when I can't sleep. It's good for us all that I don't remember most of it by morning. But there is one recurring battle that winds it's way through my dreams frequently and that 's the dilemma between Rock vs Pop worlds. I land soundly on the side of Rock and have treaded oh- so- gently into the shallow waters of the Pop world. I feel snobbish even saying this but ....
I will...Pop doesn't seems as respectable and legitimate, long running, not as honorable or soulful as rock.
"Ear Candy", that was used by Dr. Luke to describe his latest sounds. I knew Adam was drawn towards Pop early on and wanted to follow in the sounds of GaGa, Katy Perry, Kesha with a European dance beat thrown in for good measure. And is and will be working with the best producers in the Pop world to his credit. But I'm not ready for that voice to be reduced to top 40 ear candy.
Now that the second album is coming out this March I've been doing some reading about the producers and writers he's been working with and yes once again, he's planted firmly on the side of top 40 Rock/Pop. This is clearly were Adam wants to be. He's very clear with the path he wants to follow, it's me that is having the problem with it. I don't want him to box himself in like many have.
Can this Pop Ear Candy withstand time and long careers? So far we all know where Brittany Spears is and haven't heard anything new from the early 90's boy bands in a long time. I can't believe Katy Perry will be running around with cupcakes on her boobs ten years from now and Kesha will still be brushing teeth with Jack. I personally don't think they're talented enough to grow at the rate. Adam is more than capable of. He is in a league of his own. But does HE see it that way? Does he get his eminence talent to embrace timeless, pure pieces of rock and rock where the voice was the number one instrument and the record wasn't littered with tricks and confetti,
I thrive on the bits and pieces he gave us on Idol and a little with FYI. There'd be no surprise here that I was completely amazed over the EMA performance with Queen last fall. Truly amazing in every way! I can only hope and pray he'll allow a little nod to true rock in the third album and let's hope Adele and others may have been let in the door long enough by then to sit for a while and talk music - pure music. The kind that truly gifted once-in-a-lifetime artist like Adam can sing. The stuff that's raw and from the heart. Not made by pushing the do-dada-do-dada-ad-dada.button.....I want more than a good hook and ear candy - I want some great, great, powerful music that can stand the test of time. And it's been a long time coming.
And please don't pass me off as a hater (many love to use that word) because I may have a differing opinion. I've been on this train since day one and have no intention of going anywhere. I'll gladly listen to whatever Adam wants to record and love it but I'll always have my ear to the ground in hopes he hears the masters calling him home!
@Adamsmeow
I'm sorry too D:
It's the same with me.Nobody likes Adam.Days before i remember putting up his American Idol audition tape (which was very adorable *_*) on FaceBook and my best friend commented saying "You're so mad after a guy who's gay! "
That literally broke my heart but I ranted on her :< and why not ,i was so angry :/
Here it is A LOT better!! You're right

It's so good to see that people love him so much
And don't worry about your life issues ,I wish that they'll disappear someday
Just plug in some of Adams songs and hope for the best ,you'll totally feel better
@Alex Lambert Maison--Sorry you are down.
I feel that way too lately.. so many life issues-including no one to identify with around me--no one who is so into Adam... and just dull stuff around me. I love here! I can take off on an ole' magic carpet ride listening to his music, his antics, sounds, and moves.
I think about great ideas and believe me I feel I have some, and over the years some of my great ideas were put into action--not by me--but years later--someone is going to think it too. I love music, and Adam just brought me back to and forward to an era I thought I gave up in me. Does that make sense? I hope you feel better--just keep comin hear.. if it helps to create hope/and happiness in your life.
@adamsmeow -that's Adamazing!! *_*
I always visualize him by the coast singing to this song,and obviously he looks awesome it in xD
Anyways,back to the topic.Right now i'm life is Adamzing and Glamtastic xD
No not really, =.= It's depressing and lonely nowadays so it's pretty boring DX
I have so many ideas and stuff to do but i wish if i had someone with me T^T someone to point out and say "That ain'g good,work harder" Yeah ,so i feel pretty crappy DX
It's all boring and nohing much is happening ,I think thatt this year i'll sit all day at home and slowly die xD
Just was visualizing Adam walking through a cold icy night in December, long coat swaying, boots with silver
spurs, singing to the music of BTIKM. I could visualize it all like a play complete with different sounds from the single.. drums pounding like the wind howling.. a scarf wraped around Adam's neck flying up and out as he tosses his gorgeous head of hair around. Love this mental thing--I have going on with BTIKM.. Had to share it!!
Anyone want to follow me on twitter my twitter name is @blueyedhaze
tried to find a cpl of you but no luck...mayb I was lookin up the wrong name...anyway, hope u all are good:)
