I love his lower register. Its so sexy. I can see why it didn't make the album but how can you resist his voice in anything he sings.,
At first I didn't know if I liked it but as I listen over and over,

The message is great, but it seems similar to "Master Plan." I prefer the arrangement for that song, so I'm glad "Hold On" didn't make the current album. I'm still curious to hear other songs that didn't make "Trespassing," though.
I'm in the minority on this one - don't care for it much at all. I like the message of it but he's done it better on other songs and the electronics overpower it too much, even his voice doesn't sound natural and his natural voice is incredible and shouldn't be electronically distorted. I don't think it would have fit with the other songs on Trespassing at all.

I say we discuss the meaning of the song! Now of course this is Adam, so who really knows for sure, but what is everybody's thinking? I think it could be about us, his Glamberts, he relationship w/ us and ours w/ him and each other, the Glamily!
"Hold On" is also a song on current American Idol winner Phillip Phillips' debut album. Same name, different song.
The snippet doesn't do 'Hold On' justice. Listening to the whole song, the lyrics are so engaging and personal, like so much of Adam's music; they draw one in!

I like the song but the theme is a cross between "Outlaws of Love" and "Aftermath" with some electronic sound added. No matter what song is dug up from Adam's past, there will be people who love it. Lets all hope that 10 years from now Adam's label will put out "Unlock the Vault", a collection of unreleased songs.

Another great one. I love his lower register. Like Runnin. It gives him a different sound, yet distinctively Adam. He should do an album using the deeper tone like this. I'm wondering if he is experimenting more in that range. I think everyone knows by now that he can hit notes that shatter glass, it's beautiful when he showcases his different sounds.

I almost didn't recognise Adam's voice at first! I can sort of understand why he didn't put this on the album. The sound is totally different from everything else on 'Trespassing'. A different genre, maybe?
I wonder how many other brilliant demos he's hiding from us...
This should be released as a single, it has a great vibe and current sound. Seems to me that Adam's management is dropping the ball and need to make better decisions to advance his career. Adam should be on the radio and selling much better than he is. RCA is not getting it done here in the USA and need to find someone in their company to correct their mistakes! JMHO.

At first i thought it was another version like the video who's not his voice ... but this one, its actually his voice...On repeat!!

I just heard the whole song "Hold On" too and I gotta say I love it! I've got it on repeat already! Adam's voice is one in a million and his lower register that we hear at the beginning is great. It really got my attention. I barely noticed all the electro and dub step stuff because I was mesmerized by his amazing voice. Release it Adam!

Contrary to general opinion, NO! This song didn't make the album and for good reason, the dubstep is too annoying, the melody is too simple, too much electro sound. The only great thing about Hold On is the contrast , more evident than ever between Adam's deep and high notes.With one exception, Runnin. He doesn't need to revive abandoned songs. He doesn't need to sing them live to turn them into hits.

Just heard the whole song from a link on 24/7. Good song! It has lots of potential. I love Adam's lower voice in the beginning. So many great songs on TP album and so many more that we haven't heard yet. Maybe this one will be finished and released at some point. Wonder how this one surfaced all of a sudden?

@DrJ- This would be a song that Adam recorded while working on TRESPASSING that he is putting out there for other artists to buy and record, much like Bruno Mars did with NCOE.
Adam's got enough great songs that didn't make it on Trespassing to make another killer album! We want more! Adam MUST get a hit song. They're all hits to us, of course, but he needs a Billboard hit soon! Bring on Hold On!
