Notes from the Tacoma show, July 7 2009
It's 1:00 in the morning. I'm totally exhausted, but just want to say - Adam was absolutely incredible. The crowd screamed the loudest and longest for him every time his picture came up on the jumbo screens before the concert started, and when Gokey's set ended and the stage went dark - I thought the screams would take the roof off the Dome.
He was powerful, smooth and amazing. He sang with fierceness and passion and confidence and tenderness. I'm sure the whole performance will be on You Tube soon, so I won't repeat every single detail. When he shimmied out of his AMAZING studded jacket as "Fame" started, I thought I would die. He danced and stalked the stage pretty much nonstop through "Fame" and "Let's Dance." The man's pelvis is on ball bearings. He saunters. Every inch of him was glittery and sparkly - he had sparkles on his boots, sparkly mesh on the patches of his ripped pants, sparkles all over his vest, on his fingerless gloves....
Very powerful stuff when his set ends and the elevator sinks him down into the floor - he had his fist raised in the air, so that's the last you see as the fog swirls (til he comes back later for Don't Stop Believin')
I got to meet him for a whole five seconds after the show. His handlers were hurrying him along (I really don't understand why - Sarver took his sweet old time and half the Idols still hadn't even come out yet). They wouldn't allow Adam to pose with fans - but since I didn't know that, the woman next to me had my camera awaiting this moment, and she took a picture of him looking right at me as I talked to him (for my five seconds), and him thanking me. I have posted the picture below and it's my new avatar - thanks to those of you who helped me figure out how. I put that look on the Dark Lord's face. Me. That look was for me. For five seconds, I was the only woman in his world. I have since heard that the line I was in stretched all the way around the Tacoma Dome and that many, many people didn't get a chance. I am blessed and so lucky. Geez, only a 12-hour ordeal (I was there early afternoon) to get five seconds with him, sigh.
So this was what I said to him when he was mine, all mine, for those brief moments: "Adam, congratulations on all of this. You so totally deserve it....and you were FIERCE tonight." He looked right into my soul and said "Aww, thank you." Signed my Rolling Stone and he was gone.
I have to tell you ladies - the experience of looking into his eyes and saying his name has totally rocked my world. It cannot be put into words.
He is very tall, he is very very kind, and he is absolutely insanely beautiful up close.

Wow!! Lucky you - you got to get up close and personal with Adam!!
I ain't too sure if anybody else had already given you tips regarding posting pics here (I haven't read previous posts before me yet), but you will need to upload images in image-hosting sites like Tinypic, Photobucket or Twitpic (if you have Twitter). Once you've done that, copy and paste the links right here.
Put time for autograph signing into their schedule at each venue! Those darn handlers! I am sure that the idols want to meet as many of their fans as possible who got them where they are.......... He didn't come out before the show in Tacoma either, did he?
So glad you got to talk to Adam.

HOLY CRAP!!
Just loved reading your thread. Thank you. I have just watched a couple of You Tube clips of Tacoma show and I thought Adam was simply incredible - way more so than Portland. First nights are always hard! I think you were very, very lucky. Thanks again for the thread.
Thanks so much for sharing this....gave me goosebumps and shivers all over....he is one gorgeous man inside and out...so rare! ;D Loved every second of your description of the concert and being up close and so personal with Adam! ;D
Can't wait to see your pics! ;D ;D
you were the one he was seeing.
I wonder why his handlers are hurrying him along? Did it get too crazy in Portland? Are they on a really tight schedule?
They do have to perform again tomorrow night in Vancouver so perhaps they are travelling tonight to Vamcouver. However, Tacoma is not that far from Vancouver but, there is the border crossing to consider. I would bet that they want to cross it tonight rather than tomorrow morning.
That is a very busy border crossing at Peace Arch. Also, given the fact that if they did try to cross that incredibly busy border crossing in the morning the fact that their bus would be sitting there, for all the world to see and nowhere to go , while waiting in line, well you get the picture. Chaos at border crossing
yes...stunning performace...as Adamazing as we would expect. Unfortunately...my friend and I didn't know where to go to meet after...we went on other side of building..by time we figured it out we were in 2 deep in the crowd...boo hoo...didn't get direct eye contact...the handlers were saying hurry up hurry up, he didn't look to pleased at the time, of course it was like 5 minutes to 12:00 and they were supposed to be on bus at 12:00...so got my rs signed...and yes...he is incredibly gorgeous in person...better in person then on tv...knock out drop dead gorgeous. I will write more about the show etc. tomorrow. I wasn't close...but I had a pretty big zoom...need to figure out were to post so they can be enjoyed. My avi is one of the pics from the night.
You are so lucky to have met him! Sounds like that 5 seconds was AMAZING!! I hope they aren't going to hurry him along at every show from now on! But, I'm getting to my arena EARLY, so I'll have that chance to meet him before the show too. I just HAVE TO meet him! I want him to look deep into my eyes too!! & I want to tell him that I LOVE him!!
