ABOUT LAMBERT CHALLENGE:

Online education charity DonorsChoose.org announced that Adam Lambert, American Idol’s eighth season runner-up, will support high-need public school classrooms and inspire his fan groups to compete for the most donations. Lambert will ask tens of thousands of fans to donate directly to classroom project requests posted by teachers at DonorsChoose.org. When the challenge concludes Lambert will deliver supplies to a randomly selected classroom and reward the fan group with the most donations with signed photos and exclusive online interviews. The new challenge campaign represents an unusual intersection of star power, Web technology and collective citizen action for social change.

DonorsChoose.org has created a unique giving page for each fan group, which displays classroom projects in need of funding. Fans can donate any amount to any project of their choosing; each contribution helps that particular fan group push forward in the competition. A “Lambert Leaderboard” www.donorschoose.org/AdamLambert tracks and displays real-time results. Fan Group leaders should sign up and receiving confirmation by August 15th, fundraising will begin on August 20th and last for one month.

ABOUT DonorsChoose.org:

DonorsChoose.org was born in the teachers' lunchroom of a Bronx public high school where Charles Best, our founder, taught social studies for five years. He and his fellow teachers were spending lots of their own money on basic supplies but still seeing their students go without the books, art supplies, field trips, and other resources needed for a rigorous education.

So they started a nonprofit website where any public school teacher can post a resource request for their students, and donors from all walks of life can choose the projects they want to support, www.DonorsChoose.org. How to Hit Up Your Fan Group Members and ALL Friends/Loved Ones/Co-Workers:

We are asking each Fan Group leader (in this case DearBecky), to be responsible for your own Giving Page within the Adam Lambert challenge on DonorsChoose.org. She will also beresponsible for your own outreach to your fan groups; as well as updates to your blog/webpage about challenge. Some ideas include sending out an initial email letting fan group members know about the challenge and that you need their help participating in the challenge. Also weekly (or even daily) emails or posts about how the campaign is doing and ignite friendly competition among the groups. Please keep in the mind that this is fun competition designed to raise funds for public schools; any inappropriate language in connection with the challenge, misrepresentation of Adam’s involvement, or other activities deemed dishonest or corrupt will be removed from the challenge immediately and have their fan group black listed by Adam’s management team.

How can I tell if people donate through my Giving Page?
You can log into your account anytime at www.DonorsChoose.org, or click The Glittermat Laundry Room fan group donation page, which is located at: http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/viewChallenge.html?id=22795. Towards the bottom of the page, you can click on “View all of my donations,” and see a list of your donors and which projects they funded.

What if other Fan Groups choose the same project(s) I did on my Giving Page?
It is ok if you have the same projects as other Growers on your Giving Pages. Your Giving Page will only record donations given on your unique page!

What happens if/when a project on my Giving Page is fully funded?
When projects on your Giving Page are fully funded, they will stay at the bottom of your Giving Page, as record of the number of projects you had funded. You will want to make sure that you always have several unfunded projects on your Giving Page at any given time.

How do I log onto my Giving Page to add more projects?
To add more classroom projects to your Giving Page, you email your group leader, in this case, DearBecky@aol.com with your request, and she will add it to the fan group page.

What if I have already given to the General Page on the Adam Lambert challenge?

These donations are eligible for our most generous donor prizes, if these donations are made using the same donor account (same email log in that you created). Our most generous donors overall (pre-set limit) will be eligible to received signed autographs by Adam. HOWEVER donations made prior to the Fan Group competition, before August 20th, will NOT count toward fan group totals. We want to make the competition fair and start everyone on the same date. If you have already given and you now wish to participate in fan group challenge, you can still give under your same Account/ email Log In; but you must give on that fan group’s page.
