just checked Rolling Stone's site, it is the next issue out with Bono, Mick Jagger and Bruce Springsteen (yay! sorry...jersey girl here can't help it) on the cover.

Like I said in an earlier post, this is a man who won't marry his Playboy centerfold girlfriend after twenty-some years and two kids, both of whom have begged him to marry their mother.
Why does he think anybody cares how many women he's slept with, anyway? He's a homely old fart and the women he's so fond of bragging about are just slutty gold-diggers who wouldn't touch him to slap him if he weren't wealthy.
Simmons needs to STFU in a bad way. Only d-bags brag about themselves and slam colleagues. I can only guess that he suffers debilitating insecurities. That appendage Adam mentioned must be infinitesimal.

@defy★gravity - I agree. Adam generally conducts himself like a gentleman, but that doesn't make him a doormat, which I love to see.
(The following is just a rant, because I already didn't like Gene Simmons and now he's really ticking me off.)
Gene's been asking to be called out for years. It doesn't take much to see he's smug, arrogant, and self-important.
But for him to bash a guy he performed with on the biggest show Kiss has been on in years (not to mention that they wouldn't have even been on if it hadn't been for Adam) and who complemented them and their music publicly afterwords... What the heck is THAT, man?! Adam not only didn't do anything to deserve Gene's treatment, it could have (should have!) become a professional friendship... except that Simmons is a jerk.
Personally, I would feel this way even if I weren't a huge fan. I can't stand Taylor Swift's music, but man did I enjoy watching Kanye West get what he deserved after the VMAs. It's just not okay to be so uncivil without provocation, and I love to see Adam fight fire with fire.
And you know, Adam cited Gene as being a great business man (versus great musical talent, similar to what Santana said) but if Simmons were really, really savvy, wouldn't he have capitalized on a good relationship with someone as current and popular as Adam, instead of alienating him?
Speaking of Santana, that's been one of his greatest and most genius business moves over the years. Santana is still relevant, and had the biggest hit of his career within the last decade with Rob Thomas, and swept the Grammies the year Supernatural came out.
How many Grammies does Kiss have? None. In fact, in thirty-seven years, they've only had one song nominated, in a minor category. According to Wikipedia, it's one of only two award nominations they've ever received, and they didn't win either. It seems like most famous bands have boatloads of awards to show for their efforts within a few years.
Adam, on the other hand, already has two awards and four nominations cited on Wikipedia. That's not even counting the PCA he's up for right now. And he hasn't even debuted his first album yet!
But it's no wonder their peers don't acknowledge them. In spite of their popularity, everyone knows Kiss is only and entirely about pageantry. They score their show (which I've seen, because they toured one summer with Aerosmith, who was actually worth the ticket price) with loud, mediocre rock that has some general appeal. People showed up to that concert in full Kiss regalia and nearly peed themselves when Kiss came on stage. I, on the other hand, decided to use the restroom before the good band came on. The most interesting thing Simmons did during that show was open his mouth and drool massive amounts of fake blood. Weeeee. Play the bass a little better and maybe I'll care, d-bag.
Did anybody ever watch Gene Simmons: Family Jewels on A&E before it was canceled? I saw it on a number of occasions because a friend enjoyed it. But we agreed on one thing: Gene's kids were cool, Gene's non-wife was cool, but Gene was a jerk who didn't appreciate them in the slightest. He was portrayed again and again, on his own show, as a horrible workaholic who took his amazing family completely for granted and often found it torturous to spend time with them.
If that's how he treats his own family, is it any wonder he'd back-stab a potential friend?
Adam hit upon precisely the right word for this guy.

Adam was gracious and thanked Kiss etc after finale, in radio and interviews, then GS started bad mouthing... glad that Adam kept his mouth shut then and said something mild (dick is mild) only now.

Right, Adam didn't wait months to comment on Simmons, Simmons repeated even worse remarks in October on Howard Stern.And called him Britney. Adam needed to hand out a good old fashioned dose of testosterone at this time. Well done. Gay men in America are thrilled that finally a high profile person is fighting back and willing to risk a career rather than be forced to live in secret and unhappy.

When I saw this thread title I just started laughing my head off.
Gene is one and I believe it is Gene that brought this whole thing up again with a call to Howard Stern on 10/6. Is that correct? KISS was not the original band on the finale but I hear they are putting together a "last tour" with the original group. How many last tours are they going to have? Anyway, I think he is using this to get some media attention for that tour. The problem is that Adam is correct. Gene is not a great singer and a matter of fact they were not that great of a band but because of their showmanship and how different they were during the 80's they were big. Gene even played in a movie with Tom Selleck years ago called Runaway but you can see his movie career didn't really go anywhere either. Maybe he should stick to his tv show. Gene will say and do whatever he wants to do because it is his agenda but there is no reason for Adam to take any of his crap. I say more power to him for saying it like it is in his own way.
This is so funny...glad Adam finally had an opportunity to speak up. Gene has numerous times made snide remarks about Adam when the press insisted on asking about Adam when Gene was there for an interview about his then new tour. It must have irritated him no end to always have Adam the center of questions rather than himself. We all know how he loves to have everyone and everything focused on him. I don't think I have ever seen such a big ego as Gene has and was so evident when I watched Celebrity Apprentice. Even after submitting an idea he forced on his team and they lost, Gene refused to admit his idea was bad, but instead insisted the executive at Kodak was wrong in the direction he was taking the company advertising! Of course, time proved Gene wrong, but I bet he would still to this day say his idea was better. He is truly obnoxious as a person and completely full of himself. However, Gene's marketing of KISS from the beginning has been genius! So this comment from Adam really made me smile big! ;D
It might get a bad reaction from some but personally I am glad he said it. My little boy got into a stage where he liked KISS. He bought CDs and stuff. Then he got their live concert dvd and it was all over. He watched it about half way through and shelved it. It was horrendous. They sounded like absolute crap live. They need the studio and Adam doesn't. As someone else said, this is coming from a guy that dresses like an evil clown and spits blood to make up for his skills. I think that Gene has himself up there just a little too high on the rock legend meter. I wish they could've got Bowie instead.
Not to be mean but Gene is very jealous of adam, as many men are and will be. Adam is beautiful in every sense of the word. Gene did say some positive things about adam, about adam being a very handsome man etc. but I am sure Gene is very envious of Adam, Adam comes out and we woman drool over him more and more. What man can do that? I cannot think of any. And with his talent and looks. I think it will blow over, don't blame adam for putting his two cents in. My brother is an absolute KISS fan - has been for years! He liked Adam when he sang with them, but, this is going to be interesting to see his reaction. Just like it will be interesting to hear Gene's reaction. Adam, Adam, Adam, oh Boy!

Gene was being a d*ck and he is a d*ck. I've been a major KISS fan for 30 years and Gene has never ceased to amaze me at the bs that comes out of his mouth. I like the band, but Gene as a person - well, enough said. Adam is always so nice, but I'm glad he lets people have it when it's necessary.
What a difference between Brian May and Gene Simmons!
Guess it stands to reason... Queen was about music, Kiss was nothing but a fireworks display.
Simmons is like a used rocket... His response to Adam was nothing but the unpleasant smell of spent gun powder.
Brian May and Roger Taylor are alive and kicking as artists in their own right and as members of Queen... Their response to Adam was that of musicians greeting a new kid on the block.
Which is how Adam described himself. He was never anything but delighted, humbled and honoured by getting to sing with Kiss and Queen.
I'm so glad he has called the old fool out. That wasn't Adam talking without a filter. That was Adam telling the truth! Thank you Adam!
