Tara -- the Edit button disappeared with the last renovation of the site, right after Adam split from RCA last summer. No label has meant no real tech support with the site. Poor FlashMod has worked her little tushie off trying to keep us all together. I expect when the new label is announced and they give the site another makeover for Era 3, that we'll see improvements once again.

Oh, good Lord, Bejart, no use of asking about the edit button nobody , ever , no one has thought it appropriate to read my pleas, to say nothing about giving me an answer!

Revelatory answers to the interesting Lyndsey Parker's questions that perfectly reflect fans' mind-boggling dilemmas.
I Time for Queen
-Adam responds to some reviewers' criticism about his some campy performances:" Part of it are supposed to be ridiculous, that's the spirit of the band , that's what they always were , so that's one of the reasons I wasn't shy with the fashion or some of my choices energetically onstage."
-will be there a future album, new material , Queen and Adam Lambert?
It's not a yes , not a no , only time will tell and Roger and Brian and ... badgers and foxes and all the wild creatures of the wood, if they say yes, who knows? lol More of a no, I think, "...And on the horizon, I've been working on my new album."
I think, we shouldn't put pressure on him, A3 will be released when the time is ripe, the new stuff WILL .... .
II Time for A3
... BE DIFFERENT, this IS news!
"I think there's going to be some NEW SOUNDS ...I HAVEN'T REALLY GONE INTO BEFORE, AND SOME STUFF THAT'S MY SIGNATURE, AND SOME STUFF THAT'S A LITTLE RETRO, BUT NOT TOO RETRO".
And I adore what follows: different label, different producers, different people involved, different management.
An article worth reading/commenting.

Hello
Are the good, old days back, oh, how I wish !
viceversa Another reason we, here, adore Bejard to death, is subjective but it matters , he was friend with Eugene Ionesco, Romanian-born French dramatist , father of the Theatre of the Absurd, whose tragic, absurd farce inspired inspired him to create The Chairs. I haven't found a vid yet, I could find a kind of promo, spoken in German.
fink, great recap, still waiting for some observations of yours about what is happening between them when they are not playing.
ohio, one tiny but not negligible at all reason to post this vid is the guy's commitment, his singing/shouting the lyrics lol kind of proves he is one of hard core Queen fans, one without useless nostalgia and prejudices, he was singing along Adam, after all. Marknow, hmm, I think I know the name.Right now, while I'm posting, I'm listening to his DVD.
foxey I know that we both adore Brian... for decades. lol , without exaggerating, the most complex musician, human being from Rockland, past and present.
The link is of Lyndsey Parker's interview, the comments, above.

https://music.yahoo.com/blogs/reality-rocks/don-t-stop-him-now--adam-lam...

@Tara, Brian does look like he's purring in that picture. I love him so much! In part because he loves our Adam, but there is so much more to the man.

Fink- Wow! 2 great shows for you in one week, and still one more!

I didn't get to sit too close for either show that I went to, but one thing that I really enjoyed from the distance was seeing the sea of people from the floor to the rafters on their feet and cheering/waving their arms in the air, etc. Really cool. And anyone who's ever been to a concert w/me will attest to me waving at the stage whenever the artist looks in my direction. In my own little world, it's a rapid fire synapse between me and the performer, my arms connecting the energy between us. Silly, but it feels like magic, even in an arena.

Tara- I listened to the AOBTD that you posted. Nice one. The guy singing/shouting in the background was really into it! Since you can't make it to a show, I thought you might want to check out these full-show multi-camera edits for a few concerts. Here's Vegas (smaller scale/no catwalk): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Myc94vOioQM&list=PL397682AD4B3AECE4 And NYC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMJBwO7lzA0&list=PL397682AD4B3AECE4 He also has Chicago and Dallas. I had a good time cleaning my house yesterday while listening to a full concert. Smiling

I was at Merriweather Post Pavillion last night, woohoo! As with any GA concert, it was a long, stressful, tiring day. We arrived around 3:30, and were in rather confusing lines until 6:30, when we raced to the stage and ended up behind only one other person at the rail! We were soooo lucky. The women at the rail had camped out in the woods all night, so they certainly deserved to be there! I was next to Veronique, the cute young French woman, and she was the one who threw the bra during FBG. Anyway, despite my tired feet, it was of course a thrill to be right in front of Adam, and as always in that situation I often found myself admiring his tattoos (they are just like in the photos of course) and the freckles on his other arm, lol. And seeing dear Dr. Bri right there in front of me was just wonderful. It's going to be bittersweet to go to my last show, at Atlantic City this weekend. But I am SO glad I have a seat - I don't want to go thru that again for awhile. And to be perfectly honest, and rather to my surprise, I can't actually say that I enjoyed Madison Square Garden any less than the show last night. Being way back in the crowd, seeing the spectacular lights and lasers and the closeups in the "Q" , and just experiencing Adam kill it in an arena setting, was a completely different but no less moving experience. I guess this Saturday will be a little mix of both for me.

@Tara.
Yes, thank you for your musings. My life is just too busy to contribute here, but I check almost everyday. I did check the Maurice Bejart video you posted; I grew up in France, loving and practicing modern and Jazz dance with my mother and 2 sisters. Bejart was an icon. My mother still live near "La Maison de la Dance" in Lyon, where we went to see many shows. I still go all all modern dance shows here in Pittsburgh. Anyway, thanks for the memories! I loved it.

Hello
I'm passionately enamored with...a pic, so in love that I had to steal it from another blog, I'm sorry, am I ? LOL I swear to God, I am hearing voices, one commanded "bring it here, bring it here" ! LOL Look at them, look at Adam's sweet , tender smile, look at the big Brian Cat, I wonder , was he purring? lol
So many good pics, now scattered on different blogs, it seems we will not have a DVD, but what about a photo album?

MoovieBassets Thank you , but I have to say that the silence of this thread is deafening , sometimes

Tara-- I love your ruminations on each concert stop. Just so you know, you are not writing in a vacuum.

Hello
My Dr. Brian May(when the man comes to your house, enters your soul and mind day after day, he is MY Brian lol) is one year older, but it means nothing, a + one year means nothing ,the man is like a Phoenix, through his own will and and determination and power he cyclically regenerates Such phoenix-like personalities like Brian's are a blessing for their folks, they urge/help people reach the same high level of spirituality as theirs , they are inspirational. If it hadn't been for Brian's(and Roger's) burning passion for music we wouldn't have lived the miracle of listening to Adam playing , performing such a great , diverse, challenging repertoire . Adam has the greatest maestros possible to learn longevity. With each and every concert I'm more and more touched by the fans' love, love and admiration and appreciation in spite of all the previous tribulations, there are hard core fans (real ones, not Adam's haters)who can be cruel when they think that their gods abandoned them. It is their love first and foremost , and Adam's fresh, new approaches of their songs that have made the renewal of two exceptional men possible.

I have been dead sure that I heard an excellent version of Another One Bites The Dust, a raw version, , solid, precise, without embellishments, riffs , improvisations. Adam kept his voice under control, the passage from low to high notes sounds extraordinary, pure rock, a version comparable with Freddie's live versions. The bass line is there, but now the song sounds more rockish.
Here it is , the version played in Houston, just hard rock , Brian's machine gun -like guitar sounds, without any distractions, the vocalist's sexy appearance, his fancy costumes, the magical stage...hmm, why do I think that I am in minority? LOL
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIdsAyxAvTc

fink you, lucky lady, come closer and let's have a chat! Tell me more, please about their interaction on stage.
Uncasville, hmm, Uncas, The Last of The Mohicans...where are you MorningStar? I hope everything is allright.

Hey, all. I got back from New York last night. I always love any excuse to go there. The concert was a really memorable experience. It was fun just to be a part of it all; I could tell from all Adam's tweets before & after how much it meant to him to play the Garden. We posed by the trucks and watched them unloading for awhile in the afternoon. I had seats up and back in Section 119 so thought it would be a bit of a letdown after Chicago. But once it started it was fantastic. I actually enjoyed it more; I could take in the whole scene, the lights and sounds and crowd, and with the enormous closeups in the "Q" I didn't miss a thing. Those songs are so d*** good, Adam's voice was incredible, he was so much fun (I loved the addition of the All Your Love singalong), and what can I say, I'm in love with Brian. What a sweet soul. The crowd was great - a male Queen fan a couple rows in front of me was so emotional and caught up in it, singing along or standing just mezmerized. I'm off to Merriweather tomorrow; can't wait, though I'm in GA so have no idea what I'm in for; those are always rather nervewracking with all the lining up early, jockeying for position ... just hope I can see something!

@tara, yes, that review was a bummer, but I could tell from the emotions on Adam's, Bri's & John's faces faces and in their voices Thursday night, and their subsequent tweets, that the love they got from the sold-out crowd was what really mattered to them.

It should serve me right for my idiotic opinion that if you're writing for a well-known paper, you, necessarily are unbiased, uninfluenced by your preferences, emotions, prejudices.
Boring, disappointing, manipulative , this is what I think about the review written by another "soldier" enlisted in the army of the howling detractors.A bit different from the primitives from blogs and you tube , the man is from the system but equally, irrationally intransigent and this is appalling.
I "find out " that , after 40 years of writing iconic rock song, together with Freddie and Roger, touring the world and playing them, an astrophysicist , a man of rigor and order , has nothing in common with rock if he is not campy. OMG, Brian's rigor, meticulousness, Freddie's artificiality, Roger's free spirit made the band and their songs unique. I also "find out" that We Will ....was written by Freddie, I humbly admit that I haven't known that Adam has to compete with Freddie when singing...Love of My Life. Mistakes to be forgiven? No, blunders to be remembered. And the man doesn't miss his chance, at least one try, to poison things, a teeny, tiny feud , wouldn't be bad, says he. Mr Lambert is a ...a modest accessory, claims the creature.
Here's the setlist from New York, a rapid calculation, 21 songs sung by Adam, yeah, accompanied by guitar players, a drummer, two drummers, each of 5 minutes +- = approximately105 minutes. 5 songs/solos played by Roger, Brian, Neil ,the longest , Last Horizon, of 14 minutes=35 minutes +-
Do you know what an unsuccessful artist , a musician, does when he fails to have a career, consumed by envy and frustrations, he becomes a critic!!!
http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/queen-adam-lambert/2014/madison-square-gar...

"....guitar solos..."

I'm having time problems, I can't cope with tens of vids and hundreds of pics, I'll have to postpone all my issues to be able to hang around with my Rupert, a whole day the day of Madison concert, the beautiful concert hall /arena where my favorite soprano sang, Angela Gheorghiu, Romanian of course. lol

Adam, Roger, Brian, Rufus, Spike, Neil are an indomitable team, aren't they, no way the magnificent six to be affected/influenced by ill-meant, poorly written, hypocritical reviews.

"I try to speak through the guitar other than just playing notes." Brian May
With all due respect I have to remind people that rock solo guitars , short or long, are not breaks so as vocalists to be able to change their costumes. Guitar solos are part of what I call the holy trinity of classic/hard/metal rock , as important as the vocals and the drum solos(and the synth). They, when played by giants , are not only perfect gems of virtuosity, mastership, they are also parts, particles of what usually remains hidden, their soul, their mind, sensitivity. I'm not a connoiseur of technicality when it comes to guitar playing, I always follow my instincts, good ear and common sense. And imagination.
Brian does speak with his guitar in Last Horizon, the gloomy opening, the smooth transition to the sad Bijou, then to the thrilling Brighton Rock and back to expiation. For me Last Horizon is like a detonator, each part explodes in vivid images, i.e , its opening , the LA version because the SJ one is different, suggests, in white and black, a drifting Titanic-like ship, sailing through a thick fog and signaling danger.
Amazing!
To ask a classic rock guitarist to give up on riffs/solos is like asking a jazz piano player to quit improvising. We may ask , and with good reason, why many current rock bands don't play solos anymore, aren't they talented enough, no, no, far from it, I think it is just simpler this way. Everything around is much more simple, even fans ' expectations. Or, maybe , some say , we have forgotten to listen, we only consume.

k---SO very sorry for the loss of your brother---this must be a very hard time for you right now...my sincere sypmathies.

ohio---Detroit sounds like it was great!! Thanks for that vid link---really enjoyed that!

The Lament of Tarabostes, my today's post.
What the heck am I lamenting for, I've been blessed with perfect performances , unforgettable performances, an unexpectedly good Stone Cold Crazy, a vocal tour de force, Somebody To Love, an impressive Who Wants... , an explosive Killer Queen, with insane guitar solos and drum rolls, and so many , and so many moments of intense human pleasures, funny, sentimental , tender interactions of the band members with the audience. I'm even at ease , almost , with the reviewers who are complaining that the guitar/drum solos are too long, poor souls, accustomed to writing about pop concerts , they found themselves in the "disagreeable" situation to write about rock, and they didn't know how!
Dear ladies, so chary of words, just think, it's been a looong time , time of unhappiness and longing lol since they haven't played Don't Stop Me Now, exactly 14 days and 8 concerts !I've been crying tears of hopelessness, I'm an optimist though, with each and every new concert my hopes have renewed, this is the one, this is the one. Seriously I've hoped they "save" its freshness for a huge concert, Montreal, a large community of gay people, great city, French influence... .
Is it something wrong with Adam's performance, I've asked myself, hell no, I've listened to it twice, thrice, I've "chased" it from all the angles, corners, harmony, sound , perfect. Let it go, I've said to myself, there are so many other extraordinary performances you haven't written about yet.
I can't!!!
Listen to the great San Jose version!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BK3--z2qWCA
PS I've read the setlist from Montreal, that's how I know they didn't play it.

Oh K- Our posts crossed. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

Hi All- FYI, I updated the OP with the amazing spreadsheet that mmyy9 has been compiling. I also added individual links to the playlists that were available via that spreadsheet.

The Detroit show was a blast. The audience was IN IT. Show Must Go On gave me goosebumps from head to toe. That VOICE! And the sing-along parts were so much fun. Check out this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZpfREsS_Lk He schooled part of the audience a bit at first. Haha. It reminded me of way back when in that tiny room he worked so well on NYE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZSHm4x4TGk

Well.....I'm back..Prior to the Q+ALconcert, I went to see my brother. Thank God I did...His passing was peaceful.....
Morning I am so happy that Quinn is at home with that big smile...get some rest!

Hello
Roger must be a proud papa, Taylor & Taylor drum battle is another magical moment within a magical tour. How couldn't he be, Rufus is the incarnation of his father, Roger's very image. Rufus has it all, talent, good looks , the role model famous for his beats and rolls near by, dad's good genes are there, musicality, feel. The vid is from LA, you can also hear Neil's funky/jazzy sound, Roger drumming on the electric upright bass(Google told me so lol_).

A weekend treat , a unique piece of art, a fragment from Ballet For Life accompanied by The Show Must Go On, a ballet created by the famous French choreographer Maurice Bejart , a tribute to Freddie and Jorge Donn, his favorite danseur (and lover) both dead from AIDS.

A picture of Bejart, Brian and Roger.

I was unwise enough, I tried to read all the reviews about the concerts, some , many of them proved a disturbing lack of originality, almost all of them followed the same pattern=stereotype, "Adam is not Freddie" and condescending they continued, "...but...", this but drove/drives me crazy. I decided I would read them no more, with one exception The New York Times review, Mr. Caramanica's pre-review suggested poise.

Hello
This song is astonishingly evocative, youth, Brian's, ours , its follies.
It's not the first time that I publicly declare, I adore Fat Bottomed Girls, its facetious lyrics, another game of deceptive appearance/perceptions , paradoxical, fake reality:Brian, a young singer/songwriter and a taboo breaker in the making, writing about blue-eyed floozies, dirty ladies with big fat asses, who make the rocking world go round and turn a young, skinny lad into a big, bad boy. And
http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/b2C9MAb6_Pw/hqdefault.jpg
a half-naked ,young, gay Freddie singing about them and , maybe thinking of boys.
And not to forget the pale , bourgeois girls, well-mannered, well-educated "horribly" lol, secretly longing for one hot night with a rock god.lol
Such a controversial song , it is still accused of sexism, has its share of exciting moments even now:
1.Bra alert , an anthological, comic moment, a handsome, gay singer is singing about fat bottomed girls, a bra is flying in the air and is "landing" between Adam and Brian.Adam is staring at it , curious, The Brit seems/pretends he sees nothing lol , eventually Brian stimulates Adam with a gesture to pick it up , take it away, so far as the mic, where everybody can admire it in all its splendor. I think , she/he who did this has a great sense of humor, she/he must have planned it carefully in advance.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIGWCV5VHiw
2. I can only tell about this moment, the vid posted here has skipped another anthological moment:after the first accord Brian's guitar breaks, he goes off stage and Adam , cleverly , takes the mic and improvises a short , blues fragment about the incident. The moment is refreshing for me, Adam listens to blues, Adam uses blues as a passage from one song to another, Adam uses blues to solve a problem. John Mayall? I don't know, yet. LOL

ohio---sounds like your Queen/Adam show was great!!!!

morning---so glad grandson is home post-op, and doing well at this point! Enjoy your collapse!! LOL!!

Hi All! I've been blocked by the spam filter for a few weeks! I finally was able to post a message in the help thread, and Flash Mod fixed my account. I updated the OP with videos dropped off so far, but I'm really really behind... I don't even know which shows are missing. Sad

I will agree with MoovieBassets and Roxanne re: All your love. I was at Vegas Show 1, and it followed from the previous song. That night he told the audience that we had soul when repeating the one riff. He also did one crazy insane riff for us to repeat and the audience just erupted in applause. His reply was "well, maybe not that one..." Haha. Not sure if he says that to every audience, but it was fun. Speaking of Vegas, during The Show Must Go On and WWTLF, it was almost like Freddie's presence was there and Adam was totally tuned in. And the band on CLTCL was so much fun. Heck, it was all fun. Vocals were crazy. I was a little concerned about my dad and hubby having a good time at the show, but Hubby gave it a thumbs up (except for the 10 ft tall guy standing in front of us), and I saw Dad bopping along a few times. I smiled when I heard some guys leaving the show describing it as "incredible" and saying that Adam's "got the goods" vocally. Yay!

Real quick shout out to Morning-- I'm relieved to hear good news from you re: your grandson. Welcome back to Fink and Source, and howdy to everyone who's been keeping the fire burning around here!!!

- testing

It's part of the segue from Tie Your Mother Down to Radio Ga Ga. If you listen carefully at the beginning of GaGa, Adam, apparently referring to Rufus, says, "He hits those skins hard, at least that's the word on the street." Then begins singing with, "He will give you all his love tonight," which is not the actual lyric, but fits the segue, and continues with the riffing. I have been paying more attention to the segues since Adam once mentioned something about cheesy segues, lol.

Tara-- I listened to your link as well as another on youtube. I am fairly confident that Adam is not sampling the Clapton/mayall tune. What he starts with is the final line of Tie Your Mother Down both melodically and lyrically. The lyrics are "All your love tonight." He then does call and response on this line, riffing on it as he goes.

Hi all. I won't even lie and say I read back, I didn't. I also won't lie and say I will get right back on gathering vids for the thread. I don't know when I can do so, but I will do it.

OT update: Quinn was released from the hospital Saturday! (pause for my happy dance, okay happy wiggle, I am tired) My grandson with half a heart and a whole smile will live to delight us for a while yet!
Today Quinn, his older brother and his unborn brother were all checked out by the ped. cardiologist. Older brother has normal heart, Quinn is doing GREAT. The baby may, just may, have aortic coarctation, a narrowing or strichter of the aorta. So, to sum up, good news with Quinn, not horrible news with the unborn grandson. Hell, unborn grandson may not have ANY heart problems at all, the coarctation may not even be there, just suggested on ultrasound. I am now going to collapse for a week.

MoovieBassets
This is the song, I think, Adam has used to sing a very short fragment from in Vegas. Before your post I have been 100% sure, now I'm kinda confused. lol It's not easy to say, Adam's way of singing it , is completely different from Mayall's+ he keeps on singing/repeating only one line or two , I can't compare the lyrics.
Anyway there is a " tonight" in Adam's fragment which I couldn't find in Mayall's song.
What do you think?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUUEtCBhn_Q

Tara, I may be wrong, but I think Adam's riff on "All your love tonight" is from the last line of the preceding song, "Tie Your Mother Down."

Hello
Yet,it's odd to keep on posting here without feed back ! What can love make of people! lol Hmm... .
"Someone still loves you."
You may think it is a line from a love song, a poem dedicated to a lovely lover, a working mother... . The truth is shocking , confusing, you'll be crying in bafflement lol, the object of Roger's affection is a... radio. lol Like this.
http://www.gallagher.com/photos/2008/zenith_radio.jpg
Old radios , old ways( theatre plays, symphonic concerts, funny sketches) decreasing in importance, fading away and being replaced by videos. Old friends, companions through long teenage nights, and now , what we can hear is radio gaga, radio goo goo, radio blah, blah.
Legend goes that Roger wanted to name it Radio Ca Ca, wouldn't have it been hilarious?Back in the day, our beloved Roger was(and I still think he is) a funny, playful, joking even nasty, handsome lad! lol
Adam's version is refreshing, playful, but what has blown me , irremediably, is his warming up, WARMING UP?! by singing a short, too short fragment of John Mayall& Eric Clapton version of the blues song , All Your Love. I'm not crazy about his Red House, blues not very bluesy, but this one is really good.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frPuilnzjt8

PS I also have sweet , tender remembrances of old, long gone objects, do you remember the telephone with a fork , made of black ebonite?

Hi
Despite its simple, very simple lyrics, a bit formulaic, Love Of My Life has remained a favorite of the fans, we , all, love the soulful melody and the story behind it. I have always felt it is more underneath , guilt and deception and sin, ephemeral love , atonement and the final need for forgiveness.
It happened 2 years ago and it was the first time, Hammersmith Apollo, London, Brian sitting on a stool, only he and his acoustic guitar and at one time Freddie on the screen. And a choir of hundreds of male voices singing along , like one. And Freddie "conducting" both the old audience and the new one, it was a fantastic scene, I was impressed to tears. It was a moment of intimacy, old secrets shared only by Brian, Freddie and their loyal friends.
And now this moment has moved across the pond but it has remained equally brilliant , darkness, Brian sitting on a stool, under a single spotlight, nothing interferes between him and his loyal, loving fans, no lasers, no fireworks, only he , his guitar and the choir of female voices, mostly , this time. Shy and soft in the beginning , stronger and stronger as concerts "go by".
Everything is so simple as it should be when it comes to love, guilt... .
The vid is from Vancouver, it is serving the purpose better, the atmosphere, the audience choir that can be heard better.... .

Hey!

I am back! Sorry--got sucked in by RL---work/went to visit mom in Michigan, etc etc.

First---so sorry for everyone's troubles.----wla--SO very sorry about the loss of your father. Hugs to you, my dear. So hard to lose a parent, I know. And @morning---so sorry about the rollercoaster ride you have been on with the grandchildren and their respective heart issues. I hope the grandson that had the surgery continues to make progress!! And k---hope things start looking up with your brother...and if you don't know or understand what is going on, then find some heads to bash at that hospital and make them explain!!!! Smiling

oh---and morning---I have been subscribing to IVC for several years now---good publication!

HAve enjoyed catching up with Adam vids tonight---he looks and sounds amazing@ Love the stage set, and visuals and his outfits. Smiling so glad fink and k, that you have had such a good time and been able to witness it all first hand!!!

Waving to everyone!!

Hi, again! I was in LA (not the same time as QAL, unfortunately), then in Colorado for a week. What a beautiful state, and my over-21 yr old sons & I got a real kick out of those new legal "dispensaries" Eye-wink I've been taking a peek here & there at some of the videos, and caught part of the livestream from LA, but I don't want to overdo it since I have 3 more concerts to go to this month, woohoo! First I'm off to Wisconsin for a long weekend, then 2 days later, New York/MSG here I come!

Morning - glad to hear your little guy is soldiering on, poor little guy. I'm sure it's just as hard for those like you who love him to go thru this with him.

PS Many other laughable ideas,i.e, dancers, OMG, maybe jugglers , please , Mr. May, Mr. Taylor, some rope dancers next time ! lol
Is this reviewer's mission the alienation of a great part of his readers?

Hello
kcuckooga
People I was shocked with to see immobile, "frozen" while watching /listening to a rock concert were sitting , I think , in the balcony.
My cruelest enemy is the time zone now, while waiting and waiting for the vids to be posted , a painful ordeal , I've decided to finally comment on that infamous "review " from LA Times , good riddance, I've said to myself but the so many reasonable comments of the fans made me change my mind. Hmm, what can I say, the guy makes assumptions/presumptions, the guy is condescending, he seems to be in rear guard of the "troops" who wants Brian and Roger , musically speaking, dead, you know that immature, "there's no Queen without Freddie". None of my business, it's his choice to be annoying in his reviews. BUT, ha , I can't overlook the lack of professionalism: "Then the stage went dark once again and our eyes were directed toward the screen , where Mercury took over for the operatic section , a humiliating demotion..." blah, blah , blah. Whether you like Mercury's operatic performance or Adam's is a matter of de gustibus non est disputandum, I really don't want to know the reviewer's musical preferences, I only want to read interesting ideas, ones that didn't cross my mind, info I didn't know. If he can't help himself, what about giving up writing "pretentious" reviews for well - known papers and joining the bloggers, or is he one already? As for his complain that they shouldn't have used a a fragment of the official vid with Queen playing the chorus, let me laugh, a good , healthy laugh.
Watch these vids, please, 1 Freddie being "humiliated" by....Freddie, 2 poor Freddie "avoiding" to be "humiliated"(sarcasm implied) by singing only the first half of the song.

WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!! I.ve been to so many Adam concerts I can't count them. They were all wonderful...but this night was incredible...The best concert ever. Tara I don't know what section of the audience you saw..but everyone where I was sitting was dancing and singing and having a rockin good time.... The crowd was pretty eclectic..Saw all ages represented. I was talking to some outside before the doors opened and they weren't familiar with Adam at all.....After that concert I.n sure they have become fans. I ran into Merc...I don't know if any of you remember her...We had a little chat and then she was off to Vegas to meet her husband and catch the Vegas concert....I'm still high!!! Got me an Adam fix!! My friend and took a taxi there....Not a good idea at the Forum...The drop off was way off in a back parking lot. We had to run the street to catch a cab going back to the hotel.... At the Staples Center taxis were readily available and delivered you to the front of the venue. After the show they had streets blocked off specifically for cabs.... Staples Center...taxi yes....Forum...NO taxis LOL Smiling

Hello
1 Scroll down if you think it is offensive, it is about the LA concert about a part of the audience, the ones I could see while watching/listening the live stream. Are they "too old to rock'n'roll ..."(Jethro Tull), were they bored, not interested, did they attend the concert by accident, did they just land from another planet, or did they lose their rock attitude?Watching them standing there, petrified , no moving, no dancing , to singalong , to shout would have been a deadly punishment for them!!! was a punishment for me, my blood pressure , surely reached alarming levels. The joy, the excitement, the energy, the commitment was on the stage.
I truly hope future comments, reviews will prove me wrong.
2I'm not a patient woman, I just can't stay and wait for the LA vids, I'll comment on my latest love, Somebody To Love using a great vid from San Jose.
Like Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody... bears Freddie's trademark, rich, complex harmonies , an array of genres, pop/rock, hard rock, gospel. Gospel?! Yes, because Freddie wrote it out of his love for Aretha Franklin. Unlike Bohemian... which I think is more of a studio song, even Queen themselves , when Freddie was alive, either played half of it or they used a vid for that studio accomplishment which is the choir, so, Somebody... is the dream of the singers endowed with versatility. After Freddie's death, only George Michael could nail it. The song needed a new, fresh approach, new arrangement, new vocals. And not any vocals, a voice that could be vibrant and exuberant, sweet and grave, playful and deep.Brian is said to be a meticulous arranger and we can hear it, spectacular arrangement for a spectacular voice. I can't help myself , I have to compare this new arrangement and Adam's vocals with the spectacular, apparently so easy to be done , movements of a ballerina, pirouettes, plies, dance on pointe, so much effort needed, work, injuries and all.Talent above all!
Their performance is a feast with so many delicacies, pop/rock in the beginning , the cavalcade of their voices, closer and closer, higher and higher , the guitar riffs, the audience stomp, clap, stomp clap part, the gospel part ending with Adam's falsetto, the gospel frenzy accompanied by guitar rock riffs. Amazing.
Sorry, the link of the song will be above.

Hello
So many vids to listen, so little time.
There were only 2 English monarchs who got their crown by claiming the right of the conquest, William and Henry Tudor. Our man was offered a symbolic crown by Queen , but after that he had to to convince people , both friends and foes, again and again, concert after concert that he was worth of it. He had to keep on fighting battles of conquest, of talent, of originality, of charm, of persuasion .Some were ready to surrender, others to fight back, suspicious, unfriendly, even hostile. I did surrender long ago.

It doesn't happen often, a rock solo guitar makes you remember ,dream, think of old, apparently forgotten scenes, images, books, so loved , so meaningful once.Il Maestro did it , again, he played a solo guitar, a gem of sheer virtuosity and beauty and power. The opening is haunting, deep-sounding, strange even sepulchral. It is painfully evocative, a quest into the underworld with its circles of sinners punished for their crimes, unrepentant but still mourning their before life. Then the solo moves to less tumultuous sounds, the quester seems to become less gloomy but still sad.
It is , musically speaking, the summer of my life.

kcuckooga , how sweet of you, don't forget, I'm not one of yours, we only share our love for Adam.

HAHA I remembered the link this time! Eye-wink

FYI: Guitarzan has a playlist from Calgary that is almost the complete concert and all very, very good videos. Again, I would bring the link here, but I can't.

Hi, everybody
It was the seventh concert , the Vancouver concert, and I was blessed with the best Stone Cold Crazy, ever. Like Brighton Rock , some say , Stone.... is a song that can make guitarists go crazy, throw their guitars and quit because this guitar stuff is just certifiable. And the man is right, on his Red Special , Brian plays the most insane guitar riffs, aggressive , overpowering , can mimic the loud, wailing sound of a siren, and, creme de la creme, the highest peak of this performance, he uses like no other the delay effect, a single repeat to create two-part harmony from a single guitar line. For those interested in more details , directly from the source, Brian May Delay.

Everything about this performance is perfect, Adam's self-confidence, his vocals, incredible how well they are matched to a heavy metal song, Brian, the magician on the guitar, the band.
The vid is not the Glamberts'dream, Adam can't be seen in all his splendor lol, don't be sad, its sound is very good.
