I'm a fan (and you should be too) because... HELLO! Have you heard the man sing? OK, well if you have to ask . . . I accidentally heard him sing a snippet during the auditions as I was channel surfing. After the incorrect outcome last year, I decided that was going to be my first and last year watching silly contest TV. Anyway, my bad, I heard some of '[Believe' and almost fell off the couch. Hubby said what the heck was that? Even Cher uses a phase-shift effect for that high note part and Adam actually SANG the notes! Hmmm, so then I started tuning in looking for that "freaky-looking black spiky-haired dude" (sorry Adam) After seeing them do "Some Kind of Wonderful" we were hooked, line, sinker etc. as it was a song hubby's hobby band covered way back when . . .
So one week after another we naysayers of reality or contest TV could be found waiting with bated breath for the 'freaky guy's' next interpretation, Didn't take long to learn his name, birthdate, astrological sign, school history - because wiki had him up really fast!!! So, when Ring of Fire hit us we were all giggling hysterically with adrenaline rushes thinking WTF was that? AND HOLY SH_T, did he just DO that???!!! How completely cool was that - it is still one of our favorites. Hubby dubbed him a genius on the spot, and I just wanted to jump his bones . . . at that point he became a serious contender for a spot on the Twilight sequel . . . complete with his own theme music . . . the very next week we realized that WE WERE RIGHT, he is a genius and was going to show the world that he can do EVERYTHING. Needless to say the journey from there backed up that impression. He can do it all and every one of his fans know it.
The outcome of the show was a travesty, and I won't even accept the possible reasons bandied about for that miscarriage of justice. It is too awful to contemplate that our country is so backward as to have voted for mediocrity in consecutive elections . . .do we learn nothing from our past actions . . . ??? Of course, my outrage has nothing to do with any effect the outcome had on Adam - HE GOT WHAT HE NEEDED from this show. He is launched . . . quite literally like a sattelite into the stratosphere, and there is no stopping him now. As folks more qualified than I have stated repeatedly, he will be international and ICONIC and he will be legend!!!

This album does exactly what you intended it to - it entertains! I have been a fan from day 1, but I wondered what you'd do when you were no longer singing old favorites. It was hard to decide at first, because I'm kinda "old-school" and clung a bit to the Idol CD I recorded of you. I took my time really digesting the album from the easier-for-me-to-like Soaked, on through to the more dance-y, tech-y numbers. It was easy to pick who wrote what because the sound of them was familiar and could have been forgettable, but what made the songs work was YOU.read more »
