I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...this is a voice that you only hear once in a blue moon. Unique, instantly recognizable, and with a wicked range that defies gravity (yes, that was a nod to your days in "Wicked", Adam
One of my favorite musicals ever, by the way, having been a Wizard of Oz lover since...forever.
Not much I can say that every other person on this site hasn't already said, but - I knew he was special from the moment I saw his audition. I have enjoyed American idol all 8 years, but was never compelled to watch till it got closer to the finals. This year? I couldn't wait to listen to see what Adam would sing, how he'd sing it, and how he'd dress/perform. He's a treat for the eyes, the ears, and his voice range reaches right into my soul and grabs it.
If I took my 3 favorite male voices and wrapped them into one - Elvis, Prince and Robert Plant - that might come close to the appeal of Adam's voice. But truly - it stands alone. I can't wait to hear more.
There's only one other voice that captured me over the last decade or so, and that was Eva Cassidy (unfortunately, after her death). She had an unbelievable "instrument", too, but wasn't able to find fame/success till it was too late. Thank goodness for American Idol so that Adam's talent can now be enjoyed by the world.
We'll see you at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Adam! And by the way - being a theatre girl myself - don't lose the theatrics! Anyone can be "listenable" - but you are soooo watchable, too!
You're so cute
And YOU make ME want to listen to music again (ummm...specifically, your music!)
