after hearing "Whole Lotta Love" I had to go back and listen to the ORIGINAL by Led Zeppelin. I was in college in 1969 and listened to groups such as Zeppelin, Cream, and Iron Butterfly. While the Robert Plant performance is a classic, Adam's rendition was so much stronger due to his rich voice and greater range. Adam's falsetto lends itself to this type of rock song. I have the original LP (Led Zeppelin II) but most likely will not get Robert Plant's autograph. I want Adam to autograph the jacket.
Love how Adam is tweaking the song so it has subtle differences for every different performance. Hair and outfit very appropriate for this show. Was it just coincidence that the finalists first came on stage and all had guy/eyeliner that was quite noticeable? Great touch. Audience loved the performance showing their appreciation. Here's hoping that the "Powers That Be" let Adam off the leash (pun intended) so that we can hear his magnificent voice and great band perform another song from the album.
